* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

I like spy movies, I like Russian spy movies, I like female Russian spy movies, I like Jennifer Lawrence. I went for it...karma zone, big.

I don't know how far from reality this movie is, but I bet it's happening. Probably not like in this flick, but worst. What a lovely picture, what a lovely Jennifer, it's all immaculate. What a terrible film.

Overall: 8 (from 100)

Last word: Don't go there, go Deadpool. * I don't know about the second one, yet.

The Lincoln Lawyer. Good music too, at least in opening and closing credits.

Snowpiercer. Not sure if the ending was positive, or ironic.

I was going to watch a war flick...'Fury' (with Brad Pitt) in 4K (I saw it couple times already in 2K), but I needed a break from war, from having watched few docs on DDay...1944.

Instead, on impulse, for pure entertainment, without Marvel and the gang, I went Denzel. Of course it was a revisit.

Guess what, the mood for replay value was high, like the moon last night in the dark sky.
Let's just say this; the EQ is very efficient. He's an acute observer and surgeon master, with no time wasted, on the clock, like a 30-second rapid chess game. And even for him it is still slow.

This too; I am certain that most of the people here saw that flick, but for the people who did not, and can handle some violence, it's a good flick. And even if you already saw it, and that you agree with me that it's a good little flick, you might be surprised of its replay value. ...I was, and I just don't know why.

Snowpiercer is the worst movie I have ever seen. IMO of course.

Denzel in Man on Fire mode what's not to like
I can see repeated viewings being very appealing.

I do not know because, although I tried twice, I could not sit through it.

LOL. This was probably the fifth time I started watching it. Recently, I upgraded my casual TV to a Sony 65” 900F along with an Oppo 203. I watched it over 4 nights. After about half way through I started to enjoy it. A casual sci-fi movie about the end of the world.

From memory it's a different sci-fi flick, with the entire movie happening on a rolling train in some ice cold snow country. It has a claustrophobic atmosphere of surrogate slavery, then a violent rebellion, and an encounter between the supreme leader and the revolution spokesperson in the main engine lounge wagon, the head of the train and its mechanism.

I remember, it was recently. I also looked for my own review but I couldn't find it. ...The Equalizer, justice, poetic and violent justice from Antoine Fuqua (Training Day). • http://www.whatsbestforum.com/showt...-what-was-it-*&p=506702&viewfull=1#post506702

Man on Fire...Tony Scott's (Domino) flick, very stylized and Denzel on a mission, about abduction and corruption. He's a bodyguard.

Denzel is a top-notch actor. He makes his audience feel good on how he 'disposes' the bad guys.
On Training Day Denzel was the bad guy that time around, a corrupted cop. ...Powerful flick and good performances from the two main actors, the other one being from Ethan Hawke.

I revisited Brad in 4K.

Poetic war inside a tank. There is also a love story @ one point, a nice touch but it ended tragically with a bomb. Technically (picture & sound) it's an improvement over the regular Blu of past. The last frame of the movie is quite powerful. That last battle was for sure entertaining, not on the violence level but on the sheer will of ultimate defensive...the human sacrifice.

The movie itself: 66
Technical merits alone: 88
Between: 77
Final overall impact: 71

Fury was Ok in Parts-- the ending battle was O/T-- maybe the Studio wanted the "Hollywood" Finale.

3 Stars from Moi

I much preferred the Russian Tank movie from the Afghanistan Conflict-- The Beast.
