Entreq Tellus grounding

here is another pic from more above that shows more the size of the Atlantic Minimus. but again, the length of the cord is short (likely that length is related to performance) so where they go is quite limited.

got the 3 Atlantic Minimus's and 3 Everest's today. I have the Poseidon near my amplifiers, the 2 side boxes of the Poseidon are hooked up to my dart amps negative speaker terminal, the middle box is hooked up to the bass amps on my bass towers. the Atlantic Minimus's units are hooked up to each post of the Poseidon as a boost to the effect.

been listening for a few hours now.

it's improved everything a noticeable degree. more dimensional, images jump out more, every musical part seems more complete. specifically note development and decay extends farther, more vivid, image focus is better, the bass texture and articulation is more refined and defined, better flow and forward lean. less processed, more coherent. more dynamic snap and bass slam. I get more musical flow at lower volumes.

more involving and like real music.......wow!!

Jazzhead, you are my hero for suggesting this......thank you.

Entirely my pleasure , Good Sir !
Woww, ... Glad it worked out well . If it has a wholly positive effect on such a well sorted out rig/room , it is a sure fire hit for other Poseidon owners . Am thinking of grounding my speaker terminals directly with an Olymus Minimus plus Atlantis Minimus , will post if anything comes of it . The ever increasing box count being the only deterrent .

Add a full fledged Atlantis Tellus to your Silver Tellus for more of the same goodness or better still to an Olympus Tellus ... More spendy but totally worth it for me , and to think you'd need only one more Everest to cap the Atlantis Tellus ;););)

I did not realise the Atlantis was the same size as the original Minimus boxes (so quite small and compact)? Are they the same size or it an optical illusion?

This is the Atlantis Minimus not the full fledged Atlantis Tellus . These were made to complement the Tellus Minimus , so yes they are the same size .

it did requite 30 minutes per Poseidon post to get the 3 Entreq spades to stay on each post. that part was a PITA.

and I still have to experiment with footers. the Poseidon was better with my A10 U8's than sitting on the hardwood over concrete floor so likely that's what i'll try.

Footers plus mass loading the the Poseidon and the AM's does help . Worth a try and see , for added resolution .

Do footers work with entreq boxes? If so what type works best?

I happened to audition Silver Tellus years ago, and found to my surprise the benefits of the Tellus were further advanced with the use of Stillpoints Ultras and Ultra 5s. I was not expecting that...i did not do long-term listening of before and after with Stillpoints but it certainly made a difference. Makes zippo sense to me. (Over time, as a big stillpoints fan, i have found in my own system that combining them with HRS Nimbus couplers was far superior...so if you try Stillpoints, you may wish to bear this in mind.)

Yes they do
I use Stillpoints but HRS are used by others

yes...and there are those crazy ones who use Stillpoints AND HRS together (like me)...;)

I have the Silver Tellus on the preamp and dac, where I also have the Tripoint Troy Signature with the Thor grounding cable. so while I know that I could throw the Atlantic Tellus (or the Olympic Tellus) at that pile too, I think I'm good to go on my front end grounding stuff........at least for tonight.;););)

Ah yes. That explains it. Thanks. For a moment there I thought there was a new Atlantis "compact edition" as was starting to get a bit too excited. ;) I've been basking with enjoyment so long with my basic Entreq boxes and K2 knobs I haven't felt the need to keep up with a lot of the later generation Entreq gadgetry save for Barry's "forklift" adventures.

I'm quite curious what throwing an Atlantis Minimus onto a Silver Tellus could do. This is a configuration that the local Entreq dealer advocates strong. His reasoning is the Atlantis Minimus gives one a significant boost for not a huge amount of money. On the other hand, an Atlantis + Silver Tellus combo would get rather close to cost of an Olympus Tellus. And he says the latter would blow the former out of the water just like that. So the stretch would be worth it.

I won't be getting around to think the an Olympus Tellus for a while. But in the meantime, I'm tempted to get an Atlantis Minimus for the supposed quick gains. Comment would be greatly appreciated!

recall my 'improved everything a noticeable degree' from Thursday night.

last night I had a first time visitor to my room, and after 24 hours things had progressed beyond 'noticeable degree' to 'another level'. I had added the Wave Kinetics A10 U8 footers's to all the Atlantic Minimus's in the morning and that added body and a sense of ease......seemed just right. I'd just played digital on Thursday night running quickly through my references, and last night we started with digital as his reason for coming was to hear my new SGM server. and the digital was sounding really excellent. after about 2 hours he wanted to hear some vinyl. so I played 5 quick cuts.

I was not prepared for the delta of difference these little boxes made for the vinyl. the beast was unleashed! you get all in love with the digital, and then the vinyl just moves to an entirely new dimension. the vinyl just brings more information to the party to work with.

as my visitor had no reference of previous digital or vinyl in my room I just sat there and enjoyed it.....but inside I was pretty stoked. after each vinyl cut, this visitor (a sophisticated well traveled gentleman with lots of time in the higher/highest levels of the HK hifi groups) just said wow.

afterwards I asked my visitor how he liked the SGM server. he said he was very impressed, but then he heard the vinyl.;)

You won't regret it. I made the move several weeks ago (but from a Silver Minimus) and the improvements were substantial.

I haven't tried an Atlantis Minimus with a Silver Tellus myself but the reports from those who have can I am sure be relied upon.
One other possibility comes to mind which is to go for a used Atlantis Tellus which wouldn't be a lot more than an Atlantis Minimus new and a lot less than a new or used OT. If the proposed use is for other than negative speaker terminal grounding the overall boost would be greater than from an Atlantis Minimus.
The OT is a big jump in price but is justified by the extra performance from my experience.

That has cheered me up no end Mike.
I'm waiting for my Joe to come and mount a newly acquired Origin Live Conqueror Mk 3c tone arm on my Townshend Rock V/Merlin 3 power supply and Dynavector DVX 1t to replace the current OL Encounter.
Really looking forward to it!

I was grinning ear to ear too when he dropped that finishing remark.

(since microstrip will ask anyway) the 5 quick vinyl cuts I played were;

"Mondscheinsonate/Round About Midnight", Moonlight Serenade, Jeton 101 3315, Lp direct to disc.
"The Great Gate OF Kiev", Pictures At An Exhibition, Reinier/Chicago, LSC-2201, disc 4 of the original Classic Records single sided 4 disc 45rpm set.
"Blue Moon", Dream With Dean, Dean Martin, Analog Productions, 45rpm pressing.
"A Case Of You", Live In Paris, Diana Krall, ORG 45rpm pressing.
"Mephisto Waltz #1", Nojima Plays Listz, RR-25, original pressing, 33 rpm. no, not heard the new 45 reissue....yet. but it's not listed as analog sourced, so I'm skeptical....would Doc actually do that to that recording? :(

enjoy your tone arm upgrade. with vinyl, there is so much information to hear that changes really pay dividends.

Speaking of HKG ... The Wadax Atlantis server, is where's its at with that crowd,

I would not know about that, but as I understood it, it was from feedback with the SGM in HK that this person was told to come and listen at my place. i knew him prior, but he had not visited.
