Entreq Tellus grounding

Good to know...thanks. Does that mean the Pluton does NOT have this particular 3-layer material that the Hero does?
I really don’t know. It was not mentioned in the product description section of the Pluton so I assume a no. Top model usually has the secret weapon.

So have not tried the Entreg but am using a Signal Ground Solutions grounding device, the Pinnacle, from Scotland. Can only say once heard cannot listen without it yes it makes that much difference. Blacker soundstage, instruments sound more lively and tonality it's more life like.
Grounding is well worth the effort and expense.

Thanks.
I am sure a dedicated ground box, or one with separate compartments, for your power conditioner would be the most cost effective approach.
I am not sure that copper or silver makes any real difference. It may well be that copper is used on the Olympus because it is cheaper and that silver would make no discernible improvement. Like you I don't recall any specific discussion on that point.By the same token if you have a silver grounding cable I am sure that that would work very well.
I have no personal experience of the Cleanus so I can't really comment on your dealer's suggestion. I see no reason to differ from his view other than that it may be a more costly route than a dedicated ground box with no great advantages unless it helps with other components.

I think Entreq and their website is to blame for confusion on this, but one would assume the CleanUS is just a grounding noise filter, like the H-Power plugs, it is not. There is no ground pin on the CleanUS, it is a mains passive filter. They both do different things.

I am using them! Ask your dealer/importer. I have decided to trial them and one by one, swapped over all of the Silver wraps to Tungstens, and they are really great (and also so far a drop-in replacement.)

I assume you are using the AC wraps on your power cables? One end or both ends? Could you comment on the differences you have heard?

Trying to decide on next upgrades.

Thanks

So I am just trying the new Entreq blocks (like super-powerful Magma Feet...about 2x the size...but without the disc in the middle because they are not actually feet but more of a single large block that can itself be grounded but has apparently a more powerful version of the effect that Magma feet can have through their proximity to fields.

In any event...only just placed them near IEC and DAC to see how it works...will update later.

As for the wraps, yes, I place them over the IEC as it ENTERS the back of the unit. I have on occasion placed one on the wall side (for example, we have a 16-amp special outlet that powers the big Torus which powers the ENTIRE system, so we wrap both ends of the power cable).

Overall: I have preferred/found better of the same effect when placed closer to the IEC than wall-side
- calmer, definitely calmer
- rounder/more palpable notes...rounder as in more 3D, more real, more palpable (not rounded off)
- quieter...definitely seems to allow more detail to float out of the music stage

Hope that helps.

I have been using some spare Magma footers on top of IEC plugs for a similar effect. I put them on both ends, but now I will try to arrange them for just the Input side to see how I like that.

PO is raving about the Nano, so very interested in your test results.

Interesting...I do the same. I am not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but I use a rubberband and put a silver wrap around the PC as it enters the IEC...and the place a Magma on top of the Entreq wrap...using the rubberband to ensure it does not fall off.

As for Nano (that's what its called...forgot, thanks)...yes, they are very promising. So far initial observations is that is created remarkable detail out of strings and other background elements which was super cool...but you have to be careful about the overall weight and result of that. By contrast, placing 2 on top of the DAC has created a mini kind of -listen to your collection as if it were new- moment which is, as PO says, very impressive. More to come...much more to come.

At lower volumes, still working to establish if a sliver of weight has come off the overall presentation...but it was late and the volume was super-low, so need to check at normal volumes later today.

The only thing I was not clear on is where you tried placing the Nanos?. You tried them first somewhere, then later on top of the DAC?

I placed them at first on top of the cable just as it entered the IEC in the back of the amps, and into the DAC...neither was really suited to me...greater clarity, a bit oversharpened almost (almost). So I took them off and placed them ON TOP of the DAC itself. So far so good. More to come.

I forgot to ask, are you using the Silver or newer Tungsten wraps?

I have on trial the Silver Infinity H-Power cable, which was plugged into my wall outlet next to the PC powering my LPS on my music server. Pulled out my multimeter and discovered a good continuity between one of the chassis screws and ground plug on the PC, so out came the Silver Infinity H-Power cable, and I connected my spare Apollo Infinity H/H between the chassis screw and the Entreq ground box. Sound was better, much better. After that, I moved the now unused Silver Infinity H-Power cable to the music room, which up until this point had been using the Chinese power ground plug. Connected that from the Chinese ground boxes to the wall outlet. That result was also very good.

Those results have me rethinking where best to use my better ground cables. I am going to pull out my Olympus H/H cables that are currently grounding the speaker terminals and swap those with the Apollos, and use the Olympus cables for grounding both PCs. That will be todays and tonights listening tests.

UPDATE: Although this change brought in more detail, it was too much, and it lost musicality. I have switched back to how I had it before.

Have you reached a verdict on the Tungsten wraps and the Nano?

Tungsten wraps are staying...complete swap of the Tungstens for Silver...expect the 2 Nanos will as well.

You are removing Tungsten wraps and replacing them with the older Silver infinity ones?

Hey

Just curious , did you plus the cleanus into your power conditioner or into your wall socket?
Hi Iam
I plugged it into a spare socket in the wall. I liked what it did initially, but once I added a couple of Poseidons I found it detracted so I sold it. Hope that helps….

For the Olympus Tellus, Entreq never disclosed how large is that compartment or the mineral mixtures for the AC receptacle (or the main). When I was using the Olympus Tellus, I did the testing and confirmed that even the small Silver Minimus or the Olympus Ten performed much better than that grounding post for the AC receptacle. However, that compartment did wonder when using with the Entreq Receivus on top of the Olympus Tellus!!!

If you can squeeze out one separate compartment from your Pluton and use that with your power conditioner, that will be the most economical way to do it. Or buy a Olympus Infinity / Olympus Infinity T for that purpose. I think it is a waste of money to buy the Silver Cleanus. Mind you that You need a ground wire to connect the Silver Cleanus to a Entreq ground box to work its best, i.e. you need a separate grounding compartment either way!!!

That's why I always say the Hero is a bargain and you never have enough of these Entreq boxes.
So what exactly is the receivus? Looks like a piece of wood with a wire running on the outside? Is there more to it than that?

Are you using the wraps just by themselves or have you connected them to a ground box?

Ordered a few Nanos, AC Tungsten wraps & Mini Tungsten wraps today. Hopefully they will produce a positive effect.
