Eye Candy

Myles, the Phase Tech and the Oracle you already had posted. Maybe only posting images interferes a little the control of the selection. There are still some other remarkable eye candies left which might need your attention even moe :)

Yes there are. Problem is always finding good pics! Funny thing is that vinyl is dying and there's more turntable manufacturers than ever being made. Guess someone forget to tell them.

Happy hunting.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder Gary!

oh, I was completely wrong. 1. What a beautiful lady, you know her? 2. I do a bit hard finding the Cello, where is it?

1. No I don't know the lady.

2. Look carefully at her dress. ...Hint: Near the center of her body.

* By the way, this is a music cover album. ...A Heavy Metal band; with a Classical 'sprinkle'... :b

-----Myles, you are right; and I also can now buy albums (LPs) at my local London Drugs store, and Future Shop store as well. ...Other stores too. And they cost from between $20 and $50 on average.

Do you think I should jump in this new regain of energy into the world of ANALOG? ;):D

By the way, I could get tons of LP boxes (used ones) for free. ...And there are all over!
{New or Used I have to clean them anyway before playing them.}

Also, there are more treasures to be found in the used market. :)

...Food for thought. :b

I've posted this elsewhere, but I think that it's deserving of being on this thread. Most stunning turntable I've seen/heard. I understand that they have a US distributor, and it's going to be shown at CES.

-----She's cute; she looks like a Digital turntable. :b

---What would be real cool too with all those beautiful 'eye candy' looking turntables, is a price sticker attached to them (USD / MSRP). ...Each and everyone. :b

Bob, I discovered the cello in the middle. well, sometimes it takes time... So you are a hardrocker :)
I hope Myles is now happy with our mushrooms...

-----Cool! ...Now look at my quote above yours; I edited it for more info on that cover album.
And you can google Apocalyptica for the full enchilada.

* I grew up with Black Sabbath, Yes, Jethro Tull, Johnny Winter, etc. (strictly LPs), but Classical, Jazz & Blues are my true Soul food. ...My avatar was solely chosen because of its artistry (it is explained in my Picture Albums).

** If Myles want some magic mushrooms, I got some. :b

*** But before Black Sabbath and all that jazz I was listening to my Mum's albums;
Manitas de Plata, Charles Aznavour, Gilbert Becaud, Serge Regiani, Serge Mondor (Mum's brother), Nana Mouskouri, Georges Moustaki, ...

And then when I started to buy my own albums: The Beatles (Revolver wast the first), Twelve-pack Classical albums (all the major Classical composers), Jean-Pierre Ferland, Raoul Duguay, Robert Charlebois, Cat Stevens, Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath, The Stones (Rolling), Van Morrison, Shawn Phillips, Harmonium, Beau Dommage, Cano, and a zillion more.

At high school Jazz became prominent, and I also started to work in a Theater (Technical Light & Sound assistant) and also in a projection boot (movies).
I was always involved in Music & Cinema & Arts since I was six-years old.

I built my first speaker (Center Back Surround speaker) when I was only 14!
And I ain't kidding you! ...I was wayyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of my time!

Anyway, this is only a very small fraction of some of my 'youth' background.
Today I am fully developed, and very much into LIFE, from ALL natural & artistic aspects of it. :b
...Totally into the Sounds & Visuals.

And you? ;)

so you love the same kind of music I discovered in my youth. I was listening to Genesis when some people around me thought it is a unknown village band. Visiting concerts with Jethro Tull, Alice Cooper, Genesis etc. at "Frankfurt Jahrhunderthalle" was some sort of survival training - in difference to today's well organized tours. Just recently I had the chance meeting Ian Anderson's new band performing TAAB II in a wonderful summer concert at a castle in Austria. Enjoyed a lot, also because many young people were around - now feeling better :b

A good friend of me in Atlanta owns a concert hall. When I have seen the Blind Boys of Alabama over there he showed me his plans to rebuild his hall, also regarding the lighting issues. I am no pro in this but I can assume what it means in terms of knowledge and creativity dealing with this. In your case you may meet many, many people and travel a lot - which is the case in my consultancy work as well.

Since 15 years Jazz became my predominant direction, it is exciting discovering old records, some running at the speed of 16 (16 3/4). ...will be continued

airbearing,

I spy an EMT 66. My favorite phono stage ever, too bad I don't own one. :(

Interesting drive system on your table. You added a VPI double motor/flywheel! What did that do vs. the just using the table's own drive?

Yes JackD201, it is the EMT JPA-66, a wonderful machine. I discovered it first at the Munich High End Show 2009 and on the spot I got really excited.

I use the MS motor as a flywheel while the VPI SDS controls the exact speed.
you find more information on that here:

Eliminating Vectors

Hi airbearing, that was great information and thanks for sharing and I need to review. I'm very intrigued because I also have a MS which replaced my TW Acustic Black Knight.

1. Is that your 8000 also using the HS-80 flywheel?
2. Why are you not just using another HS-80 instead of using the motor as with the 8000 set-up?
3. Is the VPI that much better than the MS motor unit? I see it being used in both set-ups.
4. Are you using the special sewing thread?
5. I see the tension being checked on the thread but how accurate is this really because how does one know how hard they are actually pulling? If one is off by a fraction will have an effect.
"After reading further I have answered my own question in relation to #5, great info thanks"

My table has the floating platter and arm board pods mod from Germany "same as Syntax" but my platter is a Stainless Steel. Do you have an opinion in relation to this.
