Very Impressive!
They are awesome, Arno. They look like the Rolls Royce of speaker motors lol.
As the engine for a driver they just look amazing… totally different level of impressive… very exciting stuff. The idea that you’re building something rather wonderfully bespoke really does come through here Bill (hope you’re keeping a video trail of the journey ). It’d be amazing to see these come to life.I posted on my system build thread but posting here in case folks here don’t go there.
Got the monster FC motors today. Stunning build quality - looking forward to firing them up soon. Got a couple of variable LPSs to get me started.

I guess you can't stick them in a mini-monitor! They would be bigger than the whole speaker! They really are, Brad lol. Absolute beasts.
How was the gap defined? They really are, Brad lol. Absolute beasts.

Not sure - I left all the technical manufacture / specs to the engineer. All I have is a flux density map by voltage.
I am wondering because each driver will have a different voice coil thickness. Some will have perhaps too much space (and loss of force) and some will be too thick and scrape the sides.I was playing around with making my Stamm drivers field coil - was very easy to align so wonder whether there is a little more wiggle room.

I am not sure whether there is an established common metric for these. Fortunately mine were made for AER and Lowther.
This is a good reason why FC is usually more expensive than permanent magnetsJesus! They’re huge!
These are really enormous! It looks like they can move a chair, a table, or maybe even a wall, not a speaker.... I am really curious about the result of your work.I posted on my system build thread but posting here in case folks here don’t go there.

How big do you want your speakers to be?
