For you horn guys: What kind of compression driver are you using for high frequencies? Why that choice (if you know...)

Does anyone have experiences with the 1" exit BMS 5530/5531compression drivers?
These CDs are also available in a HIGH END version.
Thanks :)

Recently added the JBL 2405 Alnico tweeters to my existing EV cinema speaker setup, configured passively (as opposed to the rest of my speaker setup which is config. actively) from ~11.5kHz with a first order high-pass filter using Mundorf Silver/oil caps and Mundorf CUW210 (AWG19) teflon insulated solid core cables. These are some 50 year old drivers (they stopped making the Alnico version in '78), and yet they sound incredibly resolved, smooth, effortless and very dynamic. Most modern, low efficiency dome tweeters I've heard can't approach these one way or the other. Instead it takes ribbon-like drivers from Stage Accompany (8535), Mundorf AMT's or similarly to equal the old JBL's - quite impressive..!

Wow, only 56dB sensitivity... at 30 feet distance and 1mW of power!! :DFunniest spec I have ever seen but probably makes some sense in a pro application sense. Great driver.

Haha, yes - at first glance it's a clear case of cognitive dissonance seeing the stated, über-ultra low sensitivity specs, but fortunately they have a bit more dB-oomph at 1W/1M (105dB's).
