Fremer tours Dartzeel + new pre amp

In case any Dart fans hadn’t seen this, Fremers recent trip around the Dartzeel facilities with Herve showing him the faceplate and ‘pleasure control’ for the new pre amp. Enjoy!!

Thanks - what are the speakers at Herve's house?

He has same as Mike (evolution acoustics) but MM3, also has rehedko

Those were Klipsch K Horns.

Great video. I like how old school they are compared to say CH.

At 48 minutes in Hervé is about to say what they will release before the new pre amp when Fremer interrupts him. It’s never mentioned again but does anyone have any ideas?

Hervé is developing for now long time an absolute reference pre amp. I can only say it should have two cases, the design should be extraordinary like the mono amps and will be the natural partner of the 458/468. :)

The turntable does not appear very suitable for developing a serious phono stage.

well, er.....i have used Herve's phono stages for years; since 2005. 4 different versions in the first series preamp, and now the ones i have in the second series preamp. somehow each one better sounding than the previous......using that tt (and whatever other tools he has)....for checking

if the next phono stage is better than what i have i will be delighted. not sure i agree with your inference that the tt Herve has in his home limits his phono pre design potential. but you are entitled to your opinion.

Isn‘t it the same EMT turntable which Tango uses and prefers it to TechDAS AF1 and Kronos LE? Shouldn‘t be bad...

No it is a lower model, he had the 930 or so when I went there. It has fast forward and rewind buttons

To be honest I tested the first model of pre amp for months but the phono stage didn‘t convince me so much that I shifted from my Brinkmann Edison to darTZeel phono stage. But maybe unfair price ratio...

Has meanwhile someone upgraded to NHB 468 and can report? In the video Hervé comments that after upgrade no one would like to return back to NHB 458.

Only if he managed to reduce it in size by 30% - the EMT 927 is significantly larger than the Dartzeel preamplifier!

This time M Fremer carefully avoided showing details of the remaining of the system in the video, he preferred to show his rhythmically moving shoes. I can guess that Herve listens to his electronics in much more challenging and diverse systems during development.

It is the dreadful 948, the one with the even more dreadful built-in phono stage, mercifully missing from this sample. The 929 arm seems to have gained a CF armtube and a slotted shell, so some effort has been made to reduce the dreadfulness :)

great report by Mickey.. thank for sharing with us!

Klipshorns are undoubtly a really immortal speaker, today still competitive with many high-class design and highly exciting but probably these are in the personal apartment of Herve's. Maybe that in the factory there's a room for customers/listeners where EA MM3'S are still running.
Having listened to both many many times I've no doubt to tell that MM3'S are overall superior (detail, focus, presentation imaging etc.) except for dynamics, where the sensitivity of a fullhorn speaker takes the rule and it's clearly another world, probably the most important strenght of KHorns.

Back to the point of Dartzeels gear I'm curious to see the new preamp flagship !

COTS ( commercial off the shelf components ) motorola transistors & panasonic capicitors etc at this price level !

Because they are good components. In a thought-through design esoteric components do not have a massive benefit. Most of the money goes into the casework...

$10,000 amp in a $90,000 case
