And if the CJ is not on mute and the CD is not playing?

i hear the CJ tubes when they are about a year old...nearly dead quiet when they are 'new'. And in both cases, to hear them at all...i need to have my ear up to the tweeter. When they are new and very quiet, unless the room is quiet/still, i cannot hear any tube noise at all.
