Steve(sbo6) is referring to the picture I posted of a customer who had EA MM3's and purchased a pair of trade in black Vivid G1's to replace them.So... You moved from Evolution Acoustics to Vivid Giya1? Correct? Which model of EA?

I'm a bit surprised of this change since I know very well MM3's.Steve(sbo6) is referring to the picture I posted of a customer who had EA MM3's and purchased a pair of trade in black Vivid G1's to replace them.
Fairly simple, he just preferred the sound of the G1's over the sound of the MM3'sI'm a bit surprised of this change since I know very well MM3's.
I listened a few years ago the First series of Vivid g1, also excellent.
We must say that MM3's are a project dating from 2006, Vivid are a much more recent design, and G1"Spirit" has been introduced in 2020 if I remember well...
10-15 years of innovation in speaker design may justify the change... or maybe just a choice of a cooler enclosure, a speaker much more easier to place and set-up in a listening room.
Congrats! The Vivid Spirits may be the best box speakers today - because they don't sound like box speakers.UPS Freight decided they needed to hang on to my Spirits a few days longer. They are now indicating that today could be the day they drop them in my yard. Sigh. I hate shipping problems.
I am upgrading from Wilson Audio Yvettes to the Spirits. I Love Love Love the sound of my Wilsons but they man who lead me to purchase all these Gryphon components told me the Yvettes are not suitable, I need Spirits. I will so find out. [hopefully]
The Vivid Audio Giya G1 dates back to 2010, not too far off from the EA MM3s. And the Spirit which leverages the same tweeter and mid - tweeter as the Giya line but adds redesigned mid - woofer and woofers dates back to 2017. However (frank comments alert) - keep in mind that EA uses stock drivers (albeit very good ones) in a wood box, so there's not a great deal of innovation here. Vivid uses nothing off the shelf except the xover components and internal wiring - completely custom designed drivers (all 4), and custom composite cabinets which they manufacture. That cool enclosure you mentioned is highly functional which yields better sonics - think UPS truck versus Ferrari in a wind tunnel. The designs can't be further apart.I'm a bit surprised of this change since I know very well MM3's.
