Rajiv, I love yr bio at the end of yr review: "he doesn't work much, but when he does..."
I'm trying to perfect that Lol (Covid a BIG help w that).
As I procrastinate and triangulate on many factors on purchase (to Roon or not to Roon, simplistic box count, max bang for buck re SQ at real world levels), I'm approaching a landing strip of likely Roon End Point thus getting Roon in a one box solution, and great, upgradeable SQ...and Zenith Mk3 on to Phoenix ticks that box too.
So for someone like me who could very easily get excited about streaming esp for SQ at affordable prices, but is averse to a rats nest of wiring and multiple boxes, it seems yr stellar review of Zenith > Phoenix is aimed at me as a potential customer.

Indeed the Mk3 plus PhoenixUSB is an excellent spaghetti-free solution!

Interesting review. In my case my DAC double reclocks the incoming USB signal and I don't know if Phoenix would be redundant.

Also Schiit Yggy dac w new Unison 2 USB board.

staggering of clock is always not a bad idea....

Thanks Rajiv
I have a standard sotm clock I would be interested to know if this cap mod can easily be done and which caps to change or bypass with which value and voltage...

Ricardo,

Both the tX-USBultra and the sCLK-OCX10 can be upgraded to the "SE" level (upgraded DC wire and Evox caps) by sending back to SOtM. Check with May for pricing. Additionally, I believe Audio Sensibility in Canada also offers the mod, and I think Steve's silver DC wire is one of the best I've heard.

Rajiv
Thanks
One more question about habst clock cables which level of improvment compare to the switch itself ?
On habst I notice there is a grounding cable did u used it ? I think it is Great to connecté with an entreq box ?

Let’s not go off-topic, since this is a Phoenix thread.

Just thought I'd post that we finally have our demo Phoenix back. It's been flying all over the country for the past months.
We do offer in-home trials, so if you'd like to see what the Phoenix is all about, please PM or email!

cheers,
Alex

Can I ask some question? I have Lampizator combo - superkomputer server and GG2 DAC. I have roon + hqp on SK. I tried some games with upsampling with hqp and it is very interesting thing as I improve sound in some ways. but the problem is GG2 still sounds better from coax cable, not usb, even with hqp upsampling, so I listen only coax and need to downsample everything to 192 PCM. I don't like this situation for choosing between usb and coax, so have 2 options here:
1) buy phoenix to improve SQ from usb of my system (as well as new usb cables probably) and forget about coax.
2) change DAC to some system with I2S - fro example for Formula xHD + LinQ or for Rockna combo ext. maybe totaldac with its server. It would be more expensive, but I forget about USB forever and never ever came back.

what is the best way to go, what do you think?

For the Pacific, the XMOS card is available to replace the Amanero. Not available for GG2?
