I saw the film today. It was was just OK. First off it was difficult to think of Jack Ryan as anyone other than Harrison Ford as well as not seeing James Earl Jones. Suffice it to say Chris Pine has done 2 prequels one in Star Trek and now this. In each he plays a young Capt James Kirk and now Jack Ryan.

Plenty of action but just not a typical Clancy story

Probably that other actor's best movie.

We saw this on a very rare family movie trip. An ungortunate choice, the characters were ok, the action was good, but the story just didn't hold together.

Hunt for Red October...Alec Baldwin...excellent movie...we have that one along with Patriot Games (Harrison Ford). I think Jack Ryan was also played by Ben Affleck and his mentor was played by Morgan Freeman (have that one as well).
