Big congratulations, Keith!!!

I am appreciative and honored to have been part of the process!

I could feel the joy from BKK. Perfectly sized for the room.

Fantastic. Congratulations! How is everything sounding? An amazing speaker

Thanks, gentlemen. The amps are placeholders as I tried a couple things that didn’t quite work. They are m2tech Crosby’s and sound surprisingly decent for class D. I am optimistic of finding a synergistic Class AB match in the next few months.

Have no fear though, a dream amp thread isn’t coming :p

Special thanks to @Ron Resnick , @jeffrey_t , @213Cobra , and @PeterA for their help in recent weeks and of course to my dealer, Alma Audio for making it happen, home demo included.

Congrats @KeithR on the Hailey 2.2s.

They are indeed a dream or destination speaker of mine as well.

What about the MSB amps? Wouldn't that be great synergy between your MSB DAC?

The first amps to try on the Hailey 2s will be the Ampzilla monos, designed by the late James Bongiorno:

They are quite reasonable, quite powerful, and allegedly warm, tube-like SS. In my journey so far, I feel YGs need 400 watts into 4 ohms minimum. Bongiorno also didn't believe in audiophile power cords, so they are welded in the chassis

The other amps I'm considering are Lamm M2.2 hybrids as mentioned before. Unfortunately they have really crept up in price, so aren't a reality for now.

Congratulations on your new speakers. If the Lamm M2.2's sound as good as the M1.2's they should be a great match for your speakers! I tried the M1.2 with the old Wilson Alexia - a difficult load, harder than the new series 2 model - and I (and a few friends) appreciated it a lot.

Did you check with Brad about 400w SS vs SETs?

400W Class-A Amplifier? Would be fun but could double as a whole-house furnace... :p

Congrats Keith, one of the best speakers on the market imo. Maybe add that new YG subwoofer next...

400w for bass or?

The best thing about YG. Or, should I say one of IMHO.

Is that they are so neutral and revealing that any changes upstream will be easily heard. For better or worse.

If you don't like the sound, it's certainly not the speaker.

Also consider Audionet AMP and MAX Monoblock amplifiers.

Great synergy with YG (to me)
