LampizatOr Baltic 3

Never heard anybody asking for written approval for standard tubes types mentioned in the manual. On another note as like to discover “odd” tubes types i do ask Lampi if specific type is OK to be used.

Thanks! Not looking at rolling anything too weird!

Could someone please confirm the depth of the b3?

Some places show 330mm others 500mm..unsure if this is a typo or there was a model change.

Thankyou

B3 is 330mm i would say. GG3/PAC/B7/Horizon are app 500mm

Zero Lampis for years now does not have any other caps installed except Myflex which are Lampizator labeled/branded.
My Baltic 3, built in spring 2022, has Jupiter Copper, per the build sheet.

At the capital fest I noticed that a horizon was using a 12AT7 with an adapter in place of the 6sN7 tubes. Can you also do this with a Baltic 3?

Are you sure it wasn’t a 7119 / e182cc tube? They are taller novels, dimensionally similar to el84 and I'm told can make a good-sounding sub for 6sn7. Here's one from my stash, an early pinched waist D getter version.

It was OOS of Myflex during spring '22 :)

I don't know what OOS means.

Lots of folks research these things and take what's written in forums at face value.

I'm simply providing a data point that some Lampi DACs (at least one Baltic 3) were built with Jupiter Copper caps up to at least the end of March 2022.

OOS - Out of Stock
Did not say its not possible to get any other cap other then Myflex and nice to hear other options still are available

Out of Stock would explain a Jupiter for Miflex cap substitution. Supply chain issues.

Wasn't there some discussion about Engine 11 being driven by supply chain issues that made Engine 53 no longer possible?

Yup - there was...I believe, as you said, supply issues forced e11 to life

Ok here goes, some thoughts on the Bendix 6106 after more extended listening.

It makes a very favourable first impression, being clear and taut, projecting a spacious soundstage. There is an enhanced sense of atmospheric realism / reverb which is pleasing. Overall tonality is slightly dark but not significantly rolled off. Frequency extension is decent and distribution across the range is balanced. Musicality / timing is respectable. These are all worthy qualities which put it firmly into the top handful of rectifiers I have tried in my Baltic.

Extended listening however reveals that it doesn’t unravel more complex musical threads as dextrously as either Brimar or EML, with a degree of homogenisation similar to the Tak. For my preferences / priorities, that would put it behind Brimar / EML as it is indicative of lower overall resolution. That aside, it does more right than wrong and is certainly a top contender. Worth tucking one or two away whilst you can still find them!

Are ecc32's safe to run in the B3? Thankyou
Probably Paul but is best to email Monika at the factory for written confirmation as they draw 50% more current, rather like the e80cc. Perhaps the better question to ask is whether you can run both of these valve types together, as the e80cc are cuts above most ecc82s.

Hi,
The Lampizator site says the Baltic 3 tube supplement is:
2 x 5963 Jan
2 x 6SN7GT (other options)
1 x 274B rectifier (other options.

Can I use 12AU7's for the 5963 tubes?
thanks as always,
