LampizatOr Horizon - Tube Rolling Paradise

Looks like I made a small but significant mistake when I ordered a pair of Tung-Sol 6SL7GT instead of 6SN7GT...
Is it true that they are not similar and cannot be used in the Horizon? Stupid me... :(

I don’t think they can be. They have a much higher mu and would play much louder. They also don’t sound as nice as the 6SN7.

My understanding is that they are not compatible.

Got my KT90s and I am listening now. I should get a good sense of how they sound by tomorrow.

Nice. Excited to hear what you think of them. Are they the Serbian ones like Lukasz recommended?

To continue the endless but interesting experience of rolling tubes, I also would like to say couple of words.

We, as an authorized distributor of Takatsuki in US, always stock TA-300B and TA-274B tubes.
And also in August, the first deliveries of tubes TA-2A3 are expected.

Price and contacts are always on our website:
https://alexsoundtech.com/takatsuki/products

Anyone who comes to us from this forum will receive an additional $50 discount on a pair of 300B, 2A3 or 274B!
Alex.

Alex

I've told you that this 274B in my system was nothing short of an epiphany.
Yes, Steve, I'm glad you appreciated it, as do many people who have tried these tubes.
Now it is always possible to have Takatsuki tubes and we will try to keep stock for everyone.

I have a couple extra pair of RCA 6SN7s VT231s (smoked glass) if anyone is interested. Both pair test as new.

Contact me via PM.

Thanks. What about the Serbian tubes Lukasz recommended? What are your impressions so far?

Thanks. What are those? Link please? Did you try the TS KT170?

EL-51s are very hard to find. No real link to post.

The KT-170s are very good too.

Just received the Woo Audio adapters (5687->6SN7). incredibly impressed by their look, feel and build. very solid. Can’t wait to try out some 5687s. Thank you all for the suggestions thus far.

Given the quiet here, I get the sense everyone just understandably enjoying the magnificent Horizon and perhaps rolling some sets. Enjoy!
