I used the 32b in the big 7. It sounded phenomenal in one system and sucked in another. That time did not have the experience to realize, like the 242 these things are variant.

I did ask Lukasz and he said technically it wasn't a good thing to keep it running for a long duration in the Lampi, as that time the limit on the 2a3 switch was 1.5a and this was 2a current

Heat is based on current flow vs voyage difference from heater voltage. Hence not really and issue with the 5 tube setting switch if you stay on spec.

The wattage limit is something I don't know on a Pac, but I suspect about 8w....its better than GG1 for sure.

However, total wattage is not the thing...its about sticking to the spec that each switch position was designed for.Have to stay close to avoid long term problems.

Lookie here! LoL

Wowser you have them!

But where are the Teslas?

The heater question was just related to the Ayon valves.

A pac or gg2 is rated at 5 amps 5 volts
Per tube so 2 SE and 4 on BAL.
it’s the resistors that set the limit.

A 2A3 tubes need 2.5 volts 2.5 amps
That’s about 6.5 watts each dc tube heater circuit is rated at 25 watts. to use a 2A3 tube he wound need very large resistors and push out a lot of heat too. It’s not worh it. I’m modding my pac to be able to use any tube but it’s an external mod I’ll bet not worth the effort when done

Tesla and Philips 4883? too.
No extenders needed. Will test tomorrow. Golum should get his own soon too.

heat emission comes from dropping heat voltage from reference 5v to 2.5...times 2.5 amps per tube. In Bal that means 6w per tube converted to heat. 24w for bal....gets very hot...could burn pcb is not heat sinked enuff.

I complained about the lack of clarity months ago and was told they'd update the website.

They never did.
it was clear to me. There is a drop down field for number and it says 1 for euro389.

That is how I got an answer.

too busy at work.

Too many conf calls. Tried ad1n for an hour a couple days ago. It was nice...but hard to say more. Low gain for sure though. 101d setting.

Need to do full compare against other tube. I also use a new Shu recti ...GZ480.

Well well well, after exactly two months of waiting for adapters to arrive (PX25 to UX4) from China, today was that special day and yes it turned out to be very special, as I was finally been able to listen to high power version of PX25 tube Tesla RD27AS.
I did one cycle of burning them in with actually not listening them at all and later on, had a nice session giving a spin to several tracks I like to listen when inserting new tubes or gear into system.
Conclusion in this case is super easy and straight forward - best tube I heard in Lampi by nice margin. Brutal monster. Killer. Period.
Yes I have Tesla ad1n and Philips miniwatt 4883 waiting to be heard, but this was so impressive that I'm super sure they can't beat this one.
What was special - just everything - 242 on steroids (positive ones) - scale, dynamic, details, darkness between notes, extensions both hi and low but keeping the seductive mids, control...was shocked what was coming out of my speakers...
Just phenomenal...over & out.
By the way, gain level is around 242 one.

P.S. With ACME 274b, after listening to KR242RK. Might soon try with WE422A & WE274b (but not sure I'll bother - its anyhow too good already) :)
