As you may have heard, Jonathan Horwich is retiring. Over the years I have purchased 52 of his fine albums, the vast majority direct copies from the master tapes that he engineered by himself or with other fine recording engineers. They are almost all jazz solo and combos, mostly from the Chicago area, where Jonathan lives. There are a few classical albums, chamber music and solo piano. Jonathan has always priced his albums at consumer friendly prices, currently $250 for a one reel album (almost all of his albums are one reel) direct copy from the master tape, or less for a second generation copy.

Jonathan told me that he will be closing up in November, 2024, so if you want to get his tapes, it is now or never. Larry

So far I have ordered and received the two jazz sampler reels to test the sound quality (I'm a newby with tapes, need to learn from scratch) and can confirm the very good quality that is being talked about. Now I'm in the process to order The Fat Babies and The Brandeis String Quartet tapes but I can not see the latter on IPI website. Someone know what about?

Some tapes have been discontinued by Jonathan for any number of reasons, I think the Quartet has been gone for quite some time, but The Fat Babies I recall seeing not too long ago - ask him, he usually responds.

You are right, Jonathan confirm that The Brandeis String Quartet is no longer available while The Fat Babies can be shipped, I proceed with the latter.
