M12 Gold Switch

I replaced the Gold with the Premium.

Compared to the Gold, the Premium has more resolution (especially in the low frequencies) and better sound extraction.

The input DC voltage range has been changed from 18V to 27V DC, so those using an external DC power supply should be careful.
It works very well and stable here with 12V PSU.

Mr. Iwamoto, the president of Telegaertner Japan, told me the imrpovements also come from integrating better vibration countermeasures.

Best regards,
Marcin

do you mean Premium switch can operate at 12v without any problems?

Hi Marcin,

Thanks for your advice.
It also worked fine in my environment with 12V DC.

Reviving this thread as I am currently exploring options of purchasing the M12 Premium + the Opt Bridge (replacing a system of an SOTM SNH-10G + Cybershaft OP19 OCXO clock + Sonore Optical module + 2 x Farad Super 3 LPS).

What I am not sure when I cost out the replacement system is how many of the tweaks identified by the members here (LPS - JCAT or Plixir)/Sablon cables/grounding/vibration isolation) are still needed with the Premium switch (versus the gold switch). Any advice from members using the premium switch + bridge combo is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Late reply. Not exactly the same config, but you can draw your own conclusions.

I use an EtherRegen with external LPS to convert to fiber, then an SOtM switch with external power supply and a Mutec SE clock feeding it.

My best result was just adding the Telegartner switch with an external power supply between the SOtM and my streamer.

I have been using the M12 Premium for about a week now, in the link a small summary

Is anyone able to detect the type of clock used in Gold/Premium by listening?

I've had the M12 Premium for about a year (I had done the first global review of it).

Having tried many switches, still to this day it is my favorite.

It does need some run-in time though to get to its best.

I also plug it into my power filter and it give it a noticeable positive impact, AND I have it on a Well-float platform which helps even further.

I can totally understand what you are saying! The M12 Premium is something so close to live music, it still takes a digital layer off the reproduction and brings you closer to the analogue feel of the music...

I have just recovered an Entreq grounding box with its grounding cable, I will try this evening what it means to ground it!

Yes! Please let us know what you think of it. I've love to hear your thoughts.

I have found all my digital gear - switches, streamers, servers, etc to be very responsive to tweaks (positive or negative).

Thanks!

oh yes! this is amazing!!!
there is more energy and greater dynamics!!! but it's not fine tunig it's a big change!!! and it's just inserted!!! the listening continues, but a little Entreq wih its silver grounding wires is a must!!!

continuing the listening session...
on my system, the addition of a grounding box has brought an expansion of dynamics that in some tracks perhaps reaches a point that is too extreme. it will be difficult to find a balance now, I have to let the music flow and let the hours, the days go by to better break in the audio gears!

I have tried a lot of switches over the last few years, the whole Ansuz range for example (with the exception of the new €22,000 D-TC GOLD Signature), but I can tell you from my experience that if you have the money to buy a Telegartner M12 Premium, you will not regret it!
now with Entreq's grounding box it has surpassed something I thought it could not be!
