Munich HighEnd 2024

I love Blumenhofer loudspeakers. It's one of the best-kept secrets on the US high-end audio scene.
Perfect match with Audiomat Arpege or soflege amp.

The waveformer works amazingly well and those 22 cm woofers are almost seamlessly matched to the ND850 + radial horn.
As long as you're not walking around while you listen, imaging is pretty amazing. Pulling off the 'you're there' and 'they're here' tricks, occasionally even within the same track.
Need to find a dealer to hear them...

Drive direct to Blumenhofer in 86877 Walkertshofen, germany i think only 3-4 hours from zürich ,swiss.
Thomas Blumenhofer's showroom is quite impressive, to say the least:

Blumenhofer also builds a 300k monster version of the 2x220:

The 2x220 exhibits virtually no horn signature, which is probably less the case for its big brother.

For the production version, Thomas added a T900A:

I've also listened to at least 3 systems with Voxativ drivers, including the PureAudioProject Trio15 Voxativ.

One can think this up, then make it...
I leave the reproduction characteristics to your imagination:

This was probably better overall, though the setup in the small room was far from optimal:

Strictly sweet spot-ish?:(
No, it doesn't beam (noticeably), but there's some minor pattern-flip and the 'transition' between the waveformer and the radial horn.
I could live with these subtle side-effects and it takes a trained ear + knowledge to even perceive them. I haven't read any comments of this nature online.

These are some of the most impressive-looking horns I have seen. Our Trafomatic Audio distribution partner in The Netherlands is a huge fan of Blumenhoffer speakers. I can't wait to hear them with the Trafomatic Glenn 300B mono amplifiers at the Dutch Audio in October!

You mean Marco? I spoke to him, a nice guy and analog/vinyl junkie.

Blumenhofer made some impressive-looking systems in the past:

[please forgive my poor English]

I heard this Classic 1743 model and thought it was "fun" to listen to (on a short period of time), but I remained globally unimpressed: expressiveness for sure, though no real "life-likeness" (not enough "naturalness" for me; but were the Mola-Mola monoblocks ideally partnered amplifiers?). I'm sure they make better models than this one.

Blumenhofer Classic 1743, €39.000

(the off-the-frame guy on the side is not me; the horrible paintings in the middle is not from me; that ill-framed picture is not from me either...)

This is for me the best looking Blumenhofer.
Where did you hear it?
Not only nice looking but also nice sounding
I'm pretty sure it was in Munich at one of the past High Ends

I just checked, it was Munich 2014

I heard and liked that model
@ Munich High-End 2014 perhaps?

It was a limited edition model 'Concert X' including a horn loaded open baffle midrange section with air flow duct and bass face plug.

Somewhat similar to the Western Electric Mirrophonic and G.I.P. 9700A.

A few more pics.:

A few years ago, the show system was offered for sale for about 35k €.

Potential drawback: subs are required.

The Classic-series were Blumenhofer's take on the big JBL studio monitors of the '70s and '80s.

33k is a considerable amount of money, but 6k for (pre-production & used) 1733s seems reasonable.

Instead of the JBL 2235H, this 1733 features the custom BHA woofer.

Fwiw, a video of yet another pair of preliminary 1733s.
In this case with roll surrounds and the horns of the Genuin FS3 Mk1/Tempesta 20:
