I sent you a PM.Can share the source? I still searching for reliable tube sellers
Very interesting, great to know! Thank you for your sharing your experience and have a great use of your purchaseI feel the last hours brought in a drastic change, specially in the dynamics, speed and transients. Though the early hours brought in some improvements here and there, they were small. But what really separates this preamp from those I had used is that it rendered the sound from the speakers virtually transparent. It's very laid back with a wide and deep soundstage. And the midband is something to die for, lush and liquid.
I have used The Tube Depot in the US a couple of times in the last year or so to source some NOS tubes and I have been very satisfied with their serviceCan share the source? I still searching for reliable tube sellers
Yes, they've been around for a long time. And also Kevin Deal of Upscale Audio, I've heard good things about his service.I have used The Tube Depot in the US a couple of times in the last year or so to source some NOS tubes and I have been very satisfied with their service
Love it, Mike! I should make it my next wallpaper somewhere. Missing your inputs in the NBA thread.Very nice, Phil!
If you don't mind, I did a slight modification, to uplift your visual and spiritual hi-fi enjoyment.

if you are ever in the vicinity of germany, just let me know by email. I'll make a listening appointment for you.I've never had the pleasure of hearing the 800 monoliths -- absolutely, stunning expression of B&W visual sophistication
I enjoy the British ethos for sound represented by the 801 III's and BBC monitors - Rogers LS3/5a's (still have the Rogers, which were purchased new around '77).
While back reading re the B&W800 and back reading comments some more, I found this post by Mullard88 which I don't remember anymore till now. And amazingly, I did not know this measurement of the back wall and speakers and now when I measure both in my room, they are exactly the same - 9 feet.Hi Ki Choi,
If I may be allowed to chime in, my experience with my Magnepans' room placement is to pay very careful attention that the distance between the speakers and the wall behind the speakers are exactly the same. Rooms are either assymetrical like the one you are in or even in rectangular looking rooms, the walls are not exactly even.
Awesome system.if you are ever in the vicinity of germany, just let me know by email. I'll make a listening appointment for you.
