New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Well, lots of Boston fans do not like the Perkins trade and seek reasons for that kind of trade but I guess Ainge now believes they can go on without a dominant center (assuming Shaq does not come back) like the Heat and the Knicks.

Well, after watching sports center a few minutes ago, it was just announced that Kendrick sprained his mcl. (out for 2-3 weeks). Not a good start for him at OKC. Lets not forget who the C's got for this guy. Jeff Green is an exciting young player and will definitely contribute. Kristic is not bad either. I know its not a solid big man like Perkins but its better than nothing. Probably what would have happened if they'd let him get away.

Yeah. If I'm not mistaken, even hours before the trade, there was an announcement already of Perk spraining his MCL in the Warriors game. To me it sounded like, oh no, MCL, ACL, they all sound bad. And that would be another gamble to hope Perk is 100% come playoff time; with the gamble on Shaq and JO already on the losing side presently. In today's game against the Clippers, both Kristic and Green scored modestly, and yes, I'd like to believe these 2 will help the C's rather than hurt them. The Perkins trade hurts emotionally to the C's and their fans, no doubt about it. Getting 2 starters from OKL and a first round draft pick in the next draft does not sound all that bad as compensation.

something surprised me at yesterday's game between the c's and the clippers at the staples center. of course i was anxious to watch how green and krstic performed which was not that bad, but what surprised me was that there were lots of times when the celtics scored that i would actually hear cheers from the crowd. some fans were wearing green celtic shirts cheering vibrantly. :)

Sitting in the Ft Lauderdale airport on my way home to SFO. Just watched Lakers beat OKC. Lakers gave been on fire since I left last week. Ron you and I have a date for the finals. I'll be home 11 tonight and we need to ramp up this thread again. Sorry Rblnr but Lakers are looking good

And while we're at it, what about Kevin Love? 37 points and 23 rebounds! In just his second year, he breaks Moses Malone's consecutive game streak for double doubles.

Anyone just see the new Knicks beat Miami in Miami?

yeah. saw bits and pieces of it and the last 2 minutes. lebron defended well by both melo and amare. and they say d'antoni does not preach defense. LOL. the melo era is here for the knicks fans. and i see spike lee jubilant these days. melo can play james and even kobe well. if he hones up his defense a little more, he will be one great player, possibly among the best. with the heady playmaking of billups running the ny offense, the message is clear to the eastern powers - the knicks are reborn. :)

wow. i love this guy. :) he's got that tough guy look to go with his powerful playing style. :)

the lakers are playing real good indeed. i've always knew they were going get to this point and even better.

They still gotta get past the Spurs, who barring injury will have home court advantage.

Great game Ron

Believe it or not I watched the game on a Jet Blue flight home yesterday. Great game but IMO the Knicks are not going to be challengers any time soon. They can however be spoilers and upset the apple cart. Not sure if they are good enough to get past the first round however

although I agree with you Ron, I believe this Sunday's game between Lakers and Spurs will be a statement game for both teams. Spurs can go 3-0 vs Lakers or Lakers can show them who the champs really are.

FWIW, the real Lakers are now showing up.I have to hand it to Pop for deflecting the talk and stating that the Lakers are still the best team in basketball. W shall see

Monta Ellis drops 41 points against a tough C's defense. I had to look up this guy as to how and when he was drafted. 2005 second round draft pick. Great scouting job by the Warriors back then. And great ppg average the past 3 years. Whatta guy.

Gotta be glued to the ABC double header today as IMO both are statement games for all 4 teams. A win in Miami by the Bulls puts them ahead of the Heat in the East standings. Lakers were beaten at the buzzer last game by the Spurs and are 0-2 vs the Spurs this season. Look for 2 very great games.

Pop is playing it smart by saying the Lakers are still the best team in basketball.

Hi

The Lakers, I am not too worried about .. They are getting their head in the game.. The Heat are two or three players away from a championship . I don't think they will win with Lampier or Igaulkas at the Center position . They still need someone to feed the balls to their big threes and it is not Mike Bibby , nor their other point Guards who are going to .. Meanwhile the playing career of Boston "Three Amigos" is being extended by Rondo brilliance and understanding of the game ... Plus there are : The ever dangerous Orlando, the resurrected Knicks, the scrappy Chicago and even the dangerously improving Nets to contend with in the East ... I don't see the Heat clearing all these hurdles ...

I frankly see the Lakers winning the West and likely 3-peat

well I am watching Heat -Bulls and Rose is amazing as well as their 3 point shooters but Heat is winning. I agree about a few players away. but I am getting tired of the big 3 always using the same alibi that they are getting to learn the game is now wearing old. They are pros and the game following will say it all. Parker is back and the Lakers were hoping to play Barnes but ess than 20 games left in the season.

As for Lakers Frantz, we can only hope. Parker is back and the Lakers were hoping to play Barnes.
