New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Barnes is an average player at best. He is a cheap shot waiting to happen. The bottom line for the Lakers is this: the Lakers have to show they can win in San Antonio, since the Spurs will have home court advantage.

Great Sunday of basketball. Rose does a couple of things I've never seen before every game it seems. The other night he did a fake crossover -- ball never switched hands, only looked like it did -- and the defender jumped about three feet the wrong way.

I still think the Lakers are the team to beat in the West, too big for the Spurs, but both conferences, East especially seems wide open.

Can't believe the Lakers are up by almost 30 points over the league leading Spurs, on the road at that. The Lakers are making a big statement in this game. They are BACK, as Arnie Schwatz would say. LOL

The Bulls are rising. They're gonna give the Eastern playoffs a real tough ride. And the Heat just lost another 'end game' heartbreaker. One has to wonder what's wrong with them in the second half, or the last few minutes of the game.

The Spurs missed a lot of shots they usually make. Shot 35% for the game. This one was a glitch, just like the Lakers losing to Cleveland. I learned nothing from this game.

Defense is about making the opponents miss and the Lakers did play defense and good offense. I wouldn't call it a glitch just a case of outplaying the opponent ...
The Heat remind me of The Bulls before John Paxson and Dennis Rodman.. MJ would score his 70 points and they would lose ... Same there the Big -3 will score their alloted quota of points ( Lebron the most followed by D-Wade then C-Bosh) and they will eventualy lose to good teams ..
On this Derrick ROse along with Rondo may be the best Point Guards in the NBA .. This team is a good draft away from greatness IMO ( I wouldn't trade any of their starters) ... Joaquim Noah is the epitomy of "relentless" . Luol Deng that of self-effacement and Derrick Rose has Super-Star written all over him ... with the Knicks, Nets and one should never discount Boston, I don't see the Heat becoming the Lakers of the East anytime soon if ever ....

I think the Heat will figure out how to play a bit better by the end of the season, and I think they'll finish better because it'll be Dwayne Wade taking more of the big shots. He's their most clutch player. Big prob. for them is lack of size. They've got nobody big and physical, and get few offensive boards. Agreed, yeah, they won't dominate the East over the years as the Lakers in the West.

Bulls are a shooting guard away from no weaknesses.

Looking at the minutes played by the Big 3 of the Heat, all played around 40 minutes. About 2 minutes rest per quarter. Their bench, at least for this game, contributed only 6 points. In a close and grinding game like this, one cannot expect the TRIO to handle everything without help from the bench. The playoffs are coming, all tough games. Even Kobe needs some rest to be accurate in his shots. Maybe that explains why James and Wade cannot hit the winning shots at the closing seconds. Fatigue dampens accuracy.

yeah. mo williams shines. that's a confident player. and deAndre jordan? 9 of 10 shots. clippers bench had 26 points. boston's had 12. but i'm quite happy with the way things are going with the c's after the emotional trade and 2 more buy out acquisitions. c's can't whine on the o'neil bros being injured and not coming back. they took care of the present day, and maybe even the near future by getting jeff green, who can be their james posey. arroyo can be their sam cassel, but troy does not play like a pj brown. krystc is more than satisfactory at center.

Anyone concerned about the Spurs? First the Lakers, now the Heat.

Ron

watching the Lakers gel as a team now at this point of the season they are peaking at the right time of the season. IMO it comes down to Lakers-Celtics with Lakers winning. It will be tough for Lakers vs Spurs as Spurs have home court advantage.

Also watching the Lakers taking apart the Magic as I type this, they are going to be the team to beat

Bynum has come alive and is one of the formidable centers in the league. Artest has regained his confidence and Barnes is back off the bench as a true 3 point shooter

As for Spurs-Heat it only shows that on any given day any team can trounce another team but just remember it is a best of 7 series and that is where the Lakers are the seasoned veterans. In fact the only time I was concerned about them in a best of 7 series was against the Thunder last year

Don't look now but the Bulls and Celtics are tied for 1st in the East. And given the way the Celtics are playing, e.g., losing to the Nets, the Bulls very well may take the prize. If that happens, what everyone was expecting as the Eastern Conference Finals, i.e., the Celtics vs. the Heat, instead will be one of the semi-finals in the East. Go figure!
