New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Looks like Bulls v Lakers to me right now. Hard to see Shaq bringing Cs interior D to where it's been the last few years. I know my Celtic fan friends are nervous. I think Ainge wishes he could take that trade back

The Bulls do look good Bob

I'll throw something into the mix....how about OKC vs Bulls in the finals ?

That would be a blast to watch. OKC is clearly the coming young team in the West, the Bulls of East if you will. Only prob. is that they have to beat the Lakers vs. the somewhat lesser teams in the Bulls' way.

Guys like Durant and Rose are exactly what the NBA needs.

The two of them are indeed great for the league. Both of them get juiced when they play but never to the extent that LBJ does in a chest thumping way

Yep, just compare how Durant handled his 'decision' vs. LBJ.

Watching the Spurs get beat and the Lakers polishing off the Clips tonight, the Lakers are looking unbeatable. Not only is the team peaking at the right time but you can see that every player has their game faces on. Kobe also in spite of age and a multitude of injuries has turned his game up many notches

The Spurs now look like and play like last year's Spurs. LAL without doing anything at the trade deadline suddenly became better. Not so for NYK and the C's. The trade got them spinning and tumbling, it can be said now. C's loss to the Bobcats tonight is another downer, a cause for alarm but nothing much can be done. Rondo's shooting has turned for worse, missing open shots in the last few games. Allen can't find the open shots and Pierce and Garnett inconsistent. Unlike the Lakers, the fire is in the eyes of the starters. They look primed to step on the gas. OKC and the Bulls have good opportunities coming. They need the fire in their eyes too come May.

Re Rondo, the story being told on NBATV was that he was disgruntled that his best friend (Perkins) was traded to OKC and he is showing it in his play

So here is another thought, a remote possibility of course. I have just looked at the schedule for remaining games for both the SAS and the Lakers and IMO the remaining games are favoring the Lakers. Does anyone think there is a possibility the Lakers will overtake the Spurs for finishing first in the west

Hi

As a Lakers fan and because of that a Celtics hater (and closet admirer :D) I would not discount the Cs if only because ..well ... they are the Cs and they have Doc River and they have that parquet floor and they have that tradition .. Rondo was never a shooter and the team anyway ..Yes the team is old and tired ... Will they be tired for the playoffs? Can Miami beat them in a 7-game series? Chicago? Would anyone discount the Magic? Yes Chicago looks good and they likely look like the team to beat but remember the Cs last year no one expected them to be there either ...

I like the look of the Lakers ... and truly Kobe age is not that much a factor IMO ... The man is 31 people .... He has at least two years of being the best in the NBA left if you ask me ... Artest seems to be feeling his offense coming back and Bynum looks like someone who has something to prove .. I like what see and am looking forward for a 3-peat

I believe it's a possibility, specially with Duncan out. 10 games left, and LAL is 5 games back.

While that is understandable, being emotionally hurt and all, life goes on. Pro sports can be tough on the human psyche but in the end, one gets paid many millions for playing and getting the job done. I am reminded of the case wherein Jermaine O'Neal signed with the Pacers because of his 'closeness' to Isaiah Thomas, then Pacers' coach. Larry Bird came in as GM and fired Thomas and Jermaine sounded off saying Isaiah was the reason why he signed on. Larry then made a comment that if he (Jermaine) is not happy where he is now, then he could ask for a trade and Bird wouldn't stop him. I think the problem now with the C's is not the trade of Perk but the lack of fire in the starters play. They could play a lot better than that on those losses lately. After all, after making the trade, they were 5-0 with the 2 new guys.

Even though this thread is about the NBA, I have to give props to the Butler Bulldogs. They just beat Florida and are in the Final Four. Butler is the last Indiana team left standing in the tournament so I have to root for them. They are a tough team with a great coach. Butler was *supposed* to lose their first game in the tournament according to the "experts."

I'm also glad to see Ohio State get beat and super happy about Duke getting knocked out.

Jadis

interesting remaining 10-11 games. Chicago now 2 1/2 games ahead of the Celts. It will be tough for Boston to prevail as number one in the East.

It will be a most interesting playoffs as there is so much parity in the league now. IMO anything could happen.

Agreed, Steve. The C's are on a slump, they seem to be in and out of sync. And yes, anything can happen now as we gear towards the playoffs. Chicago is the surprise down the homestretch.

Spurs fall again, this time to the Grizzlies. One can only see how important Duncan is in their lineup otherwise they are quite vulnerable.

If Lakers beat Hornets tonight they will be only 4 behind the Spurs. Anything is possible

Yes, the chase in on. Duncan is their pillar. And Manu just go injured today. More bad news for the Spurs.

Boston won today after getting a scare, at least it stopped the bleeding and maybe boost their confidence. Lately, lots of upsets have happened and the lower teams are playing like crazy to beat the higher ranked team.
