New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Anyone else feel like this is shaping up to be a great playoffs year?

I see OKC v Lakers in the West finals if they stay on opposite sides of the bracket, which is how it stands at the moment. I like Jeff Green, but think Perkins is a great pickup for OKC. Think too that you'll see a lot less jawing out of KG now that Perkins doesn't have his back. Contrary to perception, I don't think KG is a particularly physical player.

Love the way the Nuggets are thriving w/o Melo btw.

Agreed, and I think he does that sometimes to promote a 'physical' reputation, but they're different things, and he's not an inside force or a tough body defender outside the paint.

Hi

On the notion of physical, the Lakers are rarely seen as such .. yet .. they have muscle .. They have close to a loose canon and extremely physical Ron Artest (6'7" and over 260 pounds of serious muscle) the quietly rough (if one can use such an expression) Lamar Odom not a guy one would like to mess with and the towering Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher is deceptively tough as for Kobe he's not the type of player anyone would like to mess with

I like what I see .. 15-1 since the All-Star break ..

Not surprisingly, Phil Jackson has always understood the necessity of size (and toughness) in bb

I'll take the Lakers but would love to see that series

You guys know I am a die hard Laker fan but OKC could be their nemesis

I'll take the Lakers .. OKC does have a good team but the Lakers are playing with passion and a renewed sense of purpose ... Kobe is back .. Artest offense is picking up .. and the kids are showing up .. Shannon Brown is a real talent ... needs to focus on the fundamentals .. He will be a player to watch ... I don't see OKC matching the Lakers depth and experience player for player ... Not this year ...

Not this year is the key Frantz

I agree with what you say. BTW, did anyone see Shannon Brown's dunk against NOH last night

I am still betting on Lakers but the run and gun offense of OKC is pretty darn good

The C's lost again tonight to the Pacers. Their confidence seems to be shaken lately. They might even be eliminated after the 1st round. And that will be the shock of it all, if they don't find the chemistry. The C's a playing mechanical ball, no mental toughness and a desire to play hard all 4 quarters. I wonder if everyone is missing Perk's presence in the court but then again when Perk did not play the first 3 months bec of injury the C's were winning a lot of games with Shaq in the middle and Daniels as their SF sub. Doc and Ainge need to fix some things quick.

LAL is just cruising into the playoffs, hoping to get home court all the way which will make them really really hard to beat even by OKC. OKC does not have the playoff experience like the LA players do, and that makes 2 very important advantage - homecourt plus experience.

Chicago - Miami in the Eastern Conference finals. Game 7 in Chicago.

In the Western Conference, it's the Lakers against _______________?

If LAL have to face Dallas, Spurs and OKC in each round of the playoffs then they will be pretty tired in the WCFinals. But it is not likely to happen based on the standings. So these 3 may have to knock each other out leaving LAL facing one of them in the playoffs, which will give LA the advantage basically at all counts. As for the East, I'd like to see the Heat enter the Finals against the Lakers. The pomp of the big names might actually spur up the Heat. Wade is a different guy come crunch time when all is on the line and James and Bosh might just be as possessed, who knows. That will give the glamor the Stern loves in an NBA world championship.

Wow

for sure the race is getting interesting

Celts lose and are now tied for 2nd with the Heat and most likely will drop to 3rd tonight with the Heat playing the Cavs and a sure win.

Bulls lose to the Sixers so Lakers now tied for 2nd best record in the NBA

Spurs lose in the East and Lakers are now 3 1/2 behind

Put on your seat belts and keep your chair in an upright position.....anything can happen now

Cleveland finally got their 'revenge' on James tonight. It goes to show how a strong team can lose to a weak team on any given night. Of course, the Cav's are highly motivated to win even by 1 against James and the Heat.

Lakers in this game showed how good they really are.

2 1/2 games back. It could all come down to the Spurs vs Lakers on April 12th

Yeah. Exciting finish. Spurs and the Lakers had a great playoff history way back to the time of Artis Gilmore and George Gervin. This is be a last hurrah for the Duncan era Spurs.

I hope OKC winds up opposite the Lakers in the West brackets as that's the conf. final matchup I want to see.

That'll be in a helluva game on 4/12 if it plays out that way.
