New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

The exciting part about this season, is that the unexpected is happening. In fact, anything can happen, specially in the East. Just a week of so ago, doom was spelled in Miami but after racking up 2 or 3 straight impressive wins, they are back on the championship board again. And Chicago. Real talented and young. They might have a new MJ in Rose. The C's are still themselves, I believe, with off an on games but the lineup is actually better after the trade. There is need for the injured players to come back to help, like Shaq and West. I think it's time to retire Jermaine though, and if Shaq can't come back next month, maybe he too can retire. The only challengers to the Lakers are the Spurs, Dallas and OK but I think the Lakers will get into the Finals easily. The East now is the big question. But, a very exciting playoffs looms. I can't wait for May.

Mostly agree with you .. Just one thing ... Derrick Rose is a great player but no MJ ... I think the Heat will continue to beat teams in the regular season with so much talent ...but...t playoff basketball is different and the Celtics, Chicago and magic seem to have that brand of team .. more so than the Heat and the (increasingly dangerous) Knicks

I agree with what you said. I think the Lakers are gonna have a bumpy road with teams like OKC (played them well last year), Spurs (Playing excellent "D" this year), Dallas (Dirk always tough to beat)

Of the 4, Dallas, OKL, SA and LA, my gut seem to always tell me, no matter what, the playoff experience, not to mention the Finals experience of the Lakers put them a cut above the rest. There's this guy Fisher who has replaced Robert Horry as Mr. Big Shot come crunch time. He did it again just last Finals' Game 4 at the TD Garden. And not to mention Kobe always want to hit the big shot when it matters. When they do, the opponents just shake their heads. It's quite amazing.

I just got home from the gym. Holy Toledo! as my favorite announcer Bill King would say. OKC goes into Miami and is up by 10 with 2 minutes to go and D Wade is getting a technical. What the heck happened in this game?

I watched the entire game.It was OKC at their best. IMO they could be the surprise out of the west cuz IMO they are the only team in the west that can beat the Lakers in a 7 game series

KD and Russell Westbrooke are the stars of tomorrow. They are a very young team and will be peaking when the other west dynasties are falling

Agreed ... and the Lakers are inthe playoff mode now .. They will lose a game or two but seem prepare to win when it counts .. I am certain that they are taking the 3-peat more seriously than people think ... and they will

OKC looks solid on paper. Adding Perkins gives them a playoff-experienced big body who can box out opponents and get the crucial offensive boards and follow up shots. Losing Jeff Green was tough but they have James Harding to add to their scoring. Since they're a young team, they can run and tire out the 'older' teams in the playoff. IMO, that is their edge. To me, Durant is already a superstar. Westbrooke is just a season or 2 away. They need to play consistent, and the coaching will be key in the playoffs. They need a system to win lots of games during that time.

The Lakers team is peaking and playing tough, wise ball, even without Bynum today. That shows they're a bunch of veterans with championship bloodline. Bad news for the Spur's re Duncan's ankle, at this point, age and injury are a bad mix. Chicago can't measure up to the Lakers in the Finals, much like when LA disposed of NJ in '02 and Orlando in '09. It's gonna be too easy.

Chicago looked unstoppable last night as well as D Rose being a shoo in for MVP however I just can't see them getting by Boston and their defense.

The Lakers are peaking at the right time and Andrew finally seems to have arrived as a big time star center which is what we have all waited 6 years to see. He humbled Dwight Howard in the Orlando game and with the whole team healthy they look terrific to repeat BUT I still maintain that if the final is Lakers vs OKC, this could be an upset as I believe OKC is just that good.

I was concerned with the Lakers giving up a 16 point lead before they beat the Suns in triple OT

Boston just lost a close one to the Grizzlies at home. Hmmm. Seems like there is a lack of energy by the starters. They might not even have home court ad if they pair with the Bulls come playoffs.

OKC is just the type of team that can give the Lakers a scare. Young, fast, and talented. I have seem LA seems to have a hard time with run and gun teams like PHX. And OKC come playoffs can run with virtually any team and score. To beat LA though, they need to shore up and toughen their D.

Is there trouble in Celtics land with the Celts 5-5 in their last 10. Also with Tim Duncan out possibly for the balance of the season doesn't bode well for the Spurs. The last 10-12 games of the season will be very exciting

It's all about home court advantage. Regardless I still feel the Celts will be tough to beat. However I would still go with the Bulls over the Heat. In the west, with Lakers peaking and both Dallas and SAS less than stellar home court for the Lakers as 2nd place will be very important

Yes, the seems like trouble in Boston though the press has not been playing it up like the Miami 5 game losing skid. As a Celtic fan, it does not look very encouraging to see them go something like 5-5 after the all-star break when LAL is going like 10-1. Getting home court edge indeed is important but not at the expense of getting burned out in time for the playoffs. That is Boston's problem now. The O'Neals are nowhere to be found on the court and the new additions have yet to fully jell particularly in the defensive area. I still do not see a Posey type of guy in Boston who can be a microwave on offense and also be a tough defender. Chicago is hungry and the crowd is noisy. They have a good future ahead. Miami has been winning games so their problems are suddenly gone. LOL
