AD might be back in uniform today.....

Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis a game-time decision vs. Miami Heat on Sunday after 16-game absence

MIAMI -- Anthony Davis, out for the past five weeks with a sprained MCL in his left knee, has been upgraded to questionable for the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Heat on Sunday and is considered a game-time decision, according to the team.

Davis missed the past 16 games since the Minnesota Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels collided with the Lakers All-Star's knee. L.A. went 7-9 without him.

"Whenever AD is ready, we're going to love that, that's for sure," LeBron James said of Davis on Friday. "I mean he's one of our biggest guns that we have, and having him on the floor, it just creates so much for us offensively and defensively, able to do so much more. But his health is what's most important, and once we know that he's healthy, he knows that he's healthy, we get him back on the floor and then we start getting his wind and his rhythm."

Davis was averaging 23.3 points on 52.1% shooting, 9.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.2 steals this season prior to the injury. His jump shot, however, had been off. Davis is shooting just 60-for-185 (32%) on shots outside the paint this season, according to NBA.com.

Davis has used the rehabilitation to work on not only his knee but his shot mechanics as well, sources told ESPN.

Davis had been eyeing the Lakers' six-game road trip to return, as ESPN reported last week, and his presence could certainly help his team that has absorbed reports about Frank Vogel's job security and Russell Westbrook's role in his absence.

If Davis makes his return against Miami, it could evoke warm memories for the Lakers big man. Davis averaged 25 points and 12.8 rebounds in the 2020 NBA Finals, downing the Heat in six games en route to his first championship.

Great win Phil. Tatum drops 51 to beat the Wizards
Woke up to that news, Steve. Have to watch the recap. 51 points by a player is a winning formula on any team

Memphis is for real. I said 2 years ago the tandem of Morant and JJJ will be something. What I didn't expect was their picking up a player as deadly as Bane. It makes me wonder why so many teams are gambling on one and done rookies when this season we are seeing the impact of NBA ready draft prospects who have had 3 or 4 years of college ball under their belts like Bane of Memphis and Duarte of Indiana.

I got to watch the 2nd game at Chase where they lost to the dubs after Steph went nuts with over 40 points despite Brooks tough D. Ja was on minute restriction. I chose this game to watch the Grizzlies as much as to watch the Dubs, being a revenge game for Golden State. I was not disappointed.

My take away, their small ball lineup is NOT small. They are a physically imposing team 1 to 5 and are fearless. Time will tell how they will respond to being thoroughly scouted now that they have arrived on the big stage.

The Lakers are the Basketball equivalent of The Expendables. We all saw this coming last year. Why are we surprised?

It's still mind boggling to me why Thibs will keep a $30m man like Kemba on the bench when it was proven he could easily be an offensive weapon at any point in the game.

Oops, spoke too soon, Kemba is playing tonight, as a starter. It's either he starts or he will sit entirely. What a deal.

well FWIW Vogel benched $45M per year Westbrook for 4 minurtes. Lot of good that did as they lost anyway

What a rude awakening tonight will be for the Lakers who are in Brooklyn vs the Nets as AD finally returns to play

The return of the King, the Brow and the Scowl .....won't matter as Lakers will lose yet again

Anthony Davis (MCL sprain) probable to return vs. Nets on Tuesday

The 8-time All-Star has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn.

My daily dose of Stephen A always brings a reality to every thing in the league

The Los Angeles Lakers and Russell Westbrook are stuck inside their own grand experiment

Well , Celtics have a 40 point lead over the Kings but there are still more than a quarter left to play.

Amazing is the Celtics 53 point win . Not a typo. No starters in the Kings lineup recorded more than 10 points.
