New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Lillard and Donovan Mitchell have always been perennial favorites of mine s they always play their hearts out and never complained about anything. Both are now in the EC on winning teams. Mitchell has spearheaded the Cavs tot heir 7 straight victory and are now in 2nd place in the EC. Bucks under Doc are looking bewildered and 1-4 under Doc The only team who has been at the top all season except for a few short games have been the Celtics who have remained steady as a rock . Being at the top in the WC is like a juggling act that changes now on a daily basis. the competition in the league this year is like none other that I can remember. Nothing is etched in stone this year for me except the Celtics who got stronger by acquiring Xavier Tillman yesterday from the Raptors. The Celtics remain well poised to win it all

Artists from around the world commemorate Kobe Bryant with street murals

Kobe Bryant's death inspired scores of artists in Los Angeles and beyond to compose beautiful murals in his memory.

Special day today for Kobe's legacy.........

The event's date of 2/8/24 reflects the jersey numbers of Kobe and his daughter Gianna. ABC7 will stream the unveiling of Kobe Bryant's statue at Crypto.com Arena at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8

Knicks really have done a great job. Good coach too. I was told by a Villanova fan that they have 3 ex-Wildcats in that lineup - Brunson, DiviCenzo, and Josh Hart. That might be an advantage playing together. And these 3 were from the championship team.

It's tough staying number 1...the top 4 teams in the WC are separated by all of a half game and Denver is silently inching back into where they belong
OKC got Hayward on an expiring contract to come off the bench. Problem is, will he be injury free ?

Doc is about to go down 1-4 against the Wolves. Lillard is not playing though. Middleton is out as well.

This plus the fact that Giannis walked to the locker room before the last game was over. Not sure they like Doc. Problem possibly in Milwaukee

And I'm thinking a scenario (though quite unthinkable) they the Bucks will fire Doc.

That will be one for the books. The shortest tenured coach after a fired coach (Adrian Griffin).

That's the problem with a 'win now' team philosophy. They get panicky, jerky, and impulsive. I look at the Spurs organization, Pop has had dismal seasons even in the time of Duncan. But they stayed put, they had poise and they know what they were doing. They never even thought of firing Pop. Well, looking at their record now, they are lottery bound again. But one day, Pop will lead them to prominence once again.

Pride will win out. They won’t fire Doc but it really reinforces what I’ve been saying for years…he’s just not that good anymore

He was terrible sitting beside Doris on ESPN. He looks lost on the bench. Cavs and Knicks are surging and Sixers are sinking and the Bucks are like a deer frozen by the oncoming headlights

Giannis is signed through 4 more years, Lillard has 3 more years and Middleton has 2 more years. Doc probably has a 4-5 year deal. Bucks are stuck with this core and have to find ways to make it work. FWIW, Patrick Beverly has been added at the trade deadline. Bucks have the league's 4th highest salary. That's a lot of pressure to win.

Boring lack luster first half in a low scoring game. Lakers are hobbled and a short bench riddled with injury. Denver is their usual strong steady self and Jokic is unstoppable. With Embiid out Jokic rises to the top of heap for MVP.

at the half Denver 59-49

Jokic is truly SNAKING to watch. He lumbers down the court in a clumsy exhausted manner and pulls up and makes threes from everywhere. He’s the only good thing to watch in this game

Denver 81-70 with 3 minutes left in the third

Michael Porter Jr has come of age. I've seen his game improve over the last few years. He and Murray and Joker are the core of draft picks that blossomed, the way teams should build towards title contention, the opposite of Win Now mentality.

I always liked Hayward since his Jazz days
It's a real pity about his several, also severe injuries :(

a very moving ceremony yesterday as Kobe's statue was unveiled . It was good to see Pau Gasol in the crowd sitting with Kobe's daughter .Apparently were are several more statues of Kobe that have been commissioned
