New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Steve, the Ws are one of the most fun teams in the league to watch, at least when they are hitting their 3s. How they will fare this year is anyone's guess. They are going to miss Jack; he was tough as nails and very clutch. A.I. will help their D for sure. Their achilles heel is the same as always: no low post threat.

I don't see them as so loaded past LeBron and Wade. It's why I think many of the top teams of yore would have taken them out -- they were a lot more loaded across the lineup. Beasley's done nothing of impact anywhere. Like Oden but for different reasons he defines promise w/o production. The Heat environment might help focus Beasley but it won't help Oden stay on the floor.

IIRC, Bosh made about one memorable play in the finals; the tip to Allen. Maybe a jumper here or there?

LBJ is the best, but to me, the whole thing is Wade's knee. Don't know what happened between the Eastern Conference finals where he could barely move and the Finals where he looked more like himself, but that's the difference maker this season, not any of the other guys.

I agree with Bob on these points. LeBron is well on his way to duplicating an 'MJ' act. He now is the centerpiece, and performing like one unlike the Cleveland days and his first year with the Heat. With MJ's team, the GM threw in several role players to the roster and they all became very good.

Mike Miller, imo, helped the team a lot the past 3 years. Then they got Battier who helped too in the first year of their title. Then, like a rabbit out of a hat, Riley talked to Allen in some garage to sign on for lesser money, which made Riley like Nostradamus when Allen sank the shot the saved a crying game in Miami. So now, Riley dumped Miller but got in Oden and Beasley. Look out for some heroics from these 2, when one stays healthy and the other stays within the law. Riley as coach lost to Jordan's Bulls a few times and now he is building his team in the mold of the old Bulls. And how good can you get as a Prez or GM when your big stars took in less money for a shot at the title?

Nah....this has to be Andrew Bynum

I'm interested to see how long he'll bleed the Cavs before he decides he won't play this season either

I think we gotta include Jermaine O'Neal in this group. He somehow 'impressed' the Warriors to pay him $2m this season after doing virtually nothing the past few years except for breaking a pinky or hand here and there.

Curry's little bro still is with the team... well, sort of. He's playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Hey Phil, you forgot to include "when Allen traveled then sank the shot".

Jermaine O'Neal as a back up center for the Ws is a great fit. Significant improvement over Ezeli, who will be out for a while on rehab.

Oh yeah Ron. Replays really showed the multiple steps backward. But the ref who will blow the whistle and negate the 3 would not make it out of the arena well that night, I can imagine that.

Hope JO does something positive for the Warriors now.

Didn't realized Doc would be this firm on exercising his powers. Tonight begins his new task to put a team 'up' there.

Report: Rivers would've resigned over Redick deal

Coach Doc Rivers wanted the J.J. Redick trade badly enough that he was willing to resign before ever coaching a game with the Los Angeles Clippers had owner Donald Sterling vetoed the deal, according to a report.

Rivers' three-year, $21 million contract with the Clippers includes final say in all trades.

Rivers, acquired from the Boston Celtics, was irate when Sterling threatened to intervene, his mission being to retain backup point guard Eric Bledsoe rather than acquire the perimeter shooting specialist Redick in sign-and-trade that pays Redick $27 million over four years, Yahoo reported.

The trade brought Redick from the Milwaukee Bucks and Jared Dudley from the Phoenix Suns and shipped Bledsoe and Caron Butler to the Sun

Gasol for 3.....YES! :D

Lakers with a makeshift team of nobodies and/or senior citizens over the hill come out and destroy the Clipps with Kobe in a suit watching from the sidelines. Not a single Lakers starter played in the 4th quarter

D'Antoni's system, or the lack of it, proved effective tonight. :D

Doc has more work to do. I'm beginning to think Blake's effective production is lower than people expect. His post up plays and foul shooting need refining or retuning. It would be a shock if the Clips go lower than Vinnie's record last season.

Interesting game on Friday when the Heat visits the Nets. We will get to see how Jason Kidd runs his team, and there is no love lost between KG, Pierce and the Heat. Pierce gave a hard shove to Wade in the pre-season. It might 'heat' up. :D

Not a great start for the Clippers and Doc last night. I missed most of the game and only saw the fourth quarter. That was difficult to watch.

Losing to the Lakers was bad enough. Losing to their second team was even worse.

The Lakers don't have a first team ;)

What a waste of money. No heart.

Just saw the Cleveland crowd gave Andrew Bynum a big cheer when he came in to to game and and also when he touched the ball. Seems like they know who he is. :D

The Sixers, rated 30th and last on power rankings and rumored 'tanker' for the lottery, beats Miami!!! :D

Sixers were actually up 20 in the first quarter.

Whad I say about them new Laker wings? :D

Okay, now the hard part. Let's see if they can keep it up since they've lost the protection or relative anonymity. They've gotten coaches' attention league wide and the countermeasures are being worked out as we speak.
