New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

I was happy when the Clippers signed Hawes but he was a disappointment in the regular season. Thought he was going to be the back up big we needed plus he could hit the three point shot - a stretch 4.

He started out pretty well but seemed to loose confidence and Doc benched him.

It would be great if he could get his mojo back. He also has another three years at about $6mm per year left on his contract so he's a boat anchor at this point unless he starts contributing.

I see. Hawes was in the playoff team of Philly that included Igoudala, Evan Turner, Jrue Holiday, Thaddeus Young and Lou Williams - all gone to other teams, and the were giving a good fight to the C's in the 2012 playoffs, I recall. That he's got a multi-year contract speaks well of his talent, and hope he gets his confidence back for the good of the Clippers.

I also noticed Sam Cassell in the bench of the Clippers. Apparently Doc was able to yank him out of the Wizards bench and the commentator was saying that Sam is playing a big role in the 'improvement' of Austin Rivers. Sam was Doc's 6th or 7th man in the 2008 Celtics title run so they have good history. There are lots of 'talents' now on the Clippers' bench, with Lawrence Frank in charge of defense and not filing paper reports in an office. :D Doc is grinding out win after win from a supposedly shallow bench even at the beginning of the Spurs series. My son was saying that Austin now has a 'Kobe-like' move with a man fronting him, Austin swings the ball low to his left and right, then hits the long shot. I didn't know Sam Cassell teaches that. :D

Sam Cassell had a couple of good years with the Clippers late in his playing career. In 2005 - 2006 he and Elton Brand led the team to the playoffs. I had season tickets that year and Sam was a joy to watch - he was fearless.

Warriors roar back. Up big end of 3rd.

Looking bleak for the Bulls. James had his way all game long.

Yep, and Webber is saying what I mentioned in an easier post, Bulls way too slow and deliberate on offense.

Rockets finally showed up to play.

Clippers down by 20 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

Rockets win by 21.

Game 6 is in LA on Thursday.

Clippers should close them out. Amazing how these blow outs swing just like that. Houston needs to just concentrate on their game plan to win. Clippers don't need another game 7.

I think it's going 7 and Houston wins it

Interesting, Steve. Lots of people wrote off the Rockets when they went down 1-3 but this is a Rockets team which is quite solid in material on the court. When they play focused and use their collective talents they are really a good team. Dwight's inside play is not much of a factor because opponents always foul him deep inside for 2 shots. Harden has yet to play those 30+ points games. Ariza is tried and tested. Terry is surprisingly connecting and the others are just ok. Doc is facing yet another how-do-you-handle-prosperity game 6 when up 3-2. Last time he had that, the C's lost to James and company though being up 3-2. Austin seems to be the key to the Clippers' wins, when he scores 20+ they won. I was rooting for the Clips initially but shifted to the 'underdogs' when they went down 1-3. :D

Celtic fan.... :)

Celtic fan.... :)

I just don't think that the Clippers have the energy to sustain. I've said all year that on paper they should be doing a lot better than what they have

Yes a Lakers fan. Definitely not a Rockets fan

Through the lens of this lone C fan, I can only see Doc, Big Baby, Cassell, and Ausin vs. McHale. :D Inside me, I'd like to see a Game 7 and if that happens, I'm rooting for Doc and company though the Rockets would have the momentum.

There will be no game 7. When the going gets tough, Dwight Coward will fold up his tent and go home.

Atlanta wins by 1 in an incredible finish. Thought Paul Pierce won another game with a 3 pointer but Washington hit the final shot.

Warriors and Grizzlies up next.

Tony Allen out for Memphis tonight, pulled hamstring. Big break for the Warriors.

The breaks of the game. So many injuries. Good to see Wall back though Wizards lost by a last second put back by Horford.
On to Game 6 for Hawks and Warriors for close out games.
