New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

The Warriors were lucky last year. :D

Just kidding. They did have good fortune and every championship includes a dose of good fortune.....as Doc well knows. Clippers had a weak bench and they ran out of gas in the playoffs.

Its true the Clips and the Warriors aren't bosom buddies. The two Warriors I'm not fond of are Draymond Green and Bogut. Hard to hate Curry and even Klay.

Clips should 'program' their win/loss slate to go 8th when the Warriors take 1st seed. Then we shall see who is lucky. :D I'd be following Andre Igoudala's Free Throw shooting this year. Can't believe he's in the league of Shaq and DeAndre in that category. :D

Pau smothers Lebron's last shot to ice a Bulls victory. Impressive game by the Bulls.

Curry looks better than ever. Ring presentation night. Interestingly, Jerry West gets another ring as Executive Board Member of the Warriors. David Lee not there to get his ring, he should get it in his new Boston address. :D

Clippers beat the Kings tonight in Sacramento. Reunion for former Celtics - Paul Pierce (Clips) and Rondo (Kings).

Mavericks and Clippers play in LA tomorrow night - should be fun given that D'Andre Jordan stiffed the Mavericks this summer.

after thinking the Lakers might win the season opener after being up 16 points it is now 104-101 Wolves with 4:00 left

Steve, I was monitoring the game from my phone outside and I thought with Kobe scoring and a big lead it would be a Lakers win but to my surprise when I refreshed I was LA lost by 1. Watching the highlights afterwards, interestingly, down by 1, LA chose Lou Williams to make the last shot and Kobe was on the floor. But a great game by Rubio, never saw him this decisive in his shots, and a good showing by the No. 1 overall pick Towns. Wiggins has been a bit off these past 2 games.

Better than 0-1. :) I'm quite happy with the roster Ainge has created. First 12 players are very good in my books. They just don't have a Big 3 kinda thing but they should do better than last season. GS has perfected speed basketball that is efficient and deadly at both ends. I guess the C's should try to emulate that given their youth. Run and gun with accuracy.

I checked out the Lakers game on League Pass tonight. Julius Randle is having a big game vs the Mavs - he has a double double at the half.

I was looking in on D'Angelo Russell, the kid from Ohio State. He hasn't done much so far this year. In this game he has 0 points and 0 assists at the half. Hope he picks up the pace.

Each time Randle plays a great game, I get bothered because Boston could have grabbed him instead of Marcus Smart last year. Smart isn't turning out to be anywhere near a premier guard in the league so far.

Clippers start at 3-0 and the Rockets are 0-3. Dwight on the bench with some injury. Surprise, Detroit is 3-0, may be a turnaround year for the Pistons.

and let's not forget 0-3 Lakers :(

I thought Randle was a beast w/skills and savvy at KU.

For all the hoopla surrounding the Celtics various future tons of picks, so far it hasn't panned out that way it should be. Sullinger and Olynyk are playing average ball, and this year's 3 picks are riding the bench while one was sent to play overseas. Why hasn't a Draymond Green type emerged from these picks? And by the way, Draymond was a SECOND round pick.

And talking about picks, the Bull's Mirotic is getting better, now a starter and looking like a very versatile forward. Same with Oladipo, if only Marcus Smart can be like him.

Curry putting on a show on both ends against Memphis right now. Very intelligent and skilled player. I think he's gunning for 3 MVPs.

In addition to Mirotic, Butler and Gibson were end of first round picks, and this yr, Portis at 16 looks to be a valuable player. Bulls have drafted well. I think Ainge did the right thing in theory by stockpiling picks, but may be that he didn't execute it properly..... which sucks.

Like drafting a 6'2" Isaiah Thomas prototype named Terry (Who?) Rozier at No.16, who as I mentioned was good during the pre-season but warming the bench. That, after Ainge was turned down my MJ for the 9th pick in exchange for 6 (SIX) picks. Yeah Bob, there is some problem with execution here. :(

I hear your pain!

The Rozier pick was a head scratcher to me -- didn't dominate in college at all AND is undersized. Is that what's meant by combo guard :) ?

Well, in the here and now, he's not going to be any sort of guard at all. :D To think Ainge shipped off Rondo (who btw played a great game the other night and was praised by Coach Karl) only to get yet another small point guard. Last year, Ainge drafted 2 guards, Marcus Smart and James Young (yet another bench warmer). 4 guards in the first round the last 2 years. The execution of these picks leaves a lot to be desired.

I think Young can be pretty good. Much less high on Rozier
