New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Rockets fire McHale after a 4-7 start. Harden is having a bad start as well.

He must have lost the team. I don't think he's a great coach but they did go to the conference finals last year and it's early in the season.

Totally agree and yes lost the team

He has never impressed nor has Phil Collins (who isn't even a good color commentator)

Yet you hear the sportscaster talking about the likes of Scott Brooks waiting on the side lines......from the frying pan to the fire. He was never impressive as well. Just had 3 really good players that won games but he couldn't get them to the next level

Now Thibodeau IMO is another story and he needs a team (like the Lakers) to find him

Ainge had reportedly offered McHale a spot in the C's organization, maybe to train their bigs into slippery eels. :D Now all we need is to have Larry Bird back too. :D

And Houston played mostly the same way against the Blazers and was trailing big most of the way until they rallied and woke up, Brewer hit a 3 pointed with the clock down and sent the game into OT. Harden scored 45 and the Rockets won on the first day of McHale's firing.

Totally agreed on Scott Brooks. Thidodeau would probably be perfect. Build a defense around Howard and play otherwise deliberate ball relying on Harden when you have to have a hoop

Good game tonight. Warriors @ Clippers. Though reports said CP3 and Redick will not be playing due to injuries.

And how bout young No. 4 pick Porzingis of the Knicks. A headline says he's taking the NBA by storm. Last game he dropped in 29 points and has good moves and good shots. Maybe a potential Dirk-type in the future.

Looks like both Chris Paul and JJ Redick will be out for the Clippers. Tough to beat Golden State with your full team, much less with 2 key players out.

Hope Doc is laying in the weeds and both will play.

I also thought McHale got a raw deal. Always liked him.

Regarding Thibodeau, he is a great coach but I don't think he'd be a good fit in Houston. Dwight Howard and James Harden are both prima donnas - they'd rebel against his demanding style. He'd be much better off working as the defensive coordinator for the Clips with his old buddy, Doc. :)

I'm waiting for some team to draw Jeff Van Gundy back in. I always thought he was better than older brother Stan.

The Clippers and Warriors did play a great game. I liked the first half better than the second half. :)

Chris Paul played, Redick did not. Seth Curry ended up with 40 points and the Warriors scored 39 in the 4th quarter to take the game.

Missed the game but saw the highlights. Wow, that was some shooting slugfest down the last few minutes. Reminds me of the Hagler-Hearn first few minutes. Gotta hand it to the Warriors, they played like champions indeed. And it would be a fantastic series if these 2 teams meet in the playoffs.

Results would likely be the same. If Steph Curry remains healthy ... We may have the beginning of a dynasty ...

That's good to bet on. I think Doc should try not to out-shoot the Warriors and try to find a slower half court game. Memphis won a couple of games by playing slow and big man ball in the playoffs vs GS. As I heard the commentators say, no one outshoots the Warriors in this league.

I thought the game was a great watch. The Warriors play their game and are undaunted by any huge deficit. IMO Curry is clearly the best player in basketball today. I was in his camp last year as the MVP when others said Harden or LBJ. Watching Steph shoot the ball from anywhere on the court with such accuracy defies anyone to recall another player past or present with such finesse and accuracy.

Let's not forget that not only are the GSW 13-0 on the season but let's also not forget that these wins were orchestrated by interim head coach non other than Luke Walton. When they interviewed Luke at the end of the first with the Warriors down about 20, Luke wasn't fazed. He merely said there's plenty of time left and he wasn't worried one bit

Luke was always a favorite son of Phil Jackson and sat next to Phil when injured with his billboard. Everyone said he has great mindset as to coaching so perhaps after Derek Fisher and Kurt Rambis, Luke might become the Knicks head coach. He will be a HC somewhere (perhaps after the Lakers realize that Byron Scott is just an ordinary coach)

Yes Steve, I have been amazed at Luke's performance even when they were just 5-0. :) Never would have thought he would be a good coaching candidate even but he's on track to tie and break the best start in NBA history. And when you've got 4 or your starting 5 draining in 3 pointers each game, it's hard for it to be a losing team. :)

Awesome win. So far the Warriors have shown consistency. There is hunger in the team, they don't want to lose a game. They've come back from big deficits to win, and beating a solid team like the Bulls with calculated offense and tight defense. My son had a tongue in cheek comment to me when I told him Luke has them winning 14 thus far, he said: So, it wasn't because of Kerr that they won last year, it's all the great players they have. I countered to him, they could have won too even with Mark Jackson. :D

Clippers on a 3 game losing skid. What seems to be the problem for Doc?

Bad sports weekend for me.

Clippers are now 6 and 7 and have lost 3 in a row. They don't look good either.

I also root for Ohio State football and they lost to Michigan State.

Worst news is that both of these teams have no one to blame but themselves.

Good thing sports is just a diversion.......:D

I always feel bad when the Celtics lose any game, even when they were bound for lottery before. Then I need another diversion from that. :D
