New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Clippers made a trade with Memphis at the deadline. They sent Lance Stephenson and their 2019 first round pick to for Jeff Green.

Green is one of Doc's former Celtics players.

Controversial move within Clip's Nation - I'm OK with it since the Clippers have to be in win now mode. We've needed a better SF for a long time and Green will, hopefully, be that.

Naysayers are against including the pick and Doc's continuing infatuation with his former Celtics players.

Well, off the bat, I'd say Jeff Green should be an improvement over Lance, who hasn't seen much playing time anyway. As a Celtic, Green was envisioned to be their young go to guy of the future but it never worked out that way. He's still doing something like 12 ppg so that's not bad. Problem is the 1st round pick Doc is giving away, it's a bit steep imo.

A first round pick?

Doc loves giving 1st round picks away. He rarely plays young players. The pick should be a late first rounder, 25 or higher theoretically, so the value is somewhat diminished.

That's the theory anyway. Its apparent that Doc's playing for the now, not the future. If his plan doesn't work he'll be gone by the time the draft choice becomes relevant.

That's the cynical perspective. So, time will tell.

The contenders look in the short term. Cleveland didn't make a big move, so it all depends on LUE on how to get that banner hanging in Cleveland.

Went to see Book of Mormon this evening so I wasn't able to watch the Clippers play the Spurs. I was pleasntly surprised to see the Clippers won by 19 points.

Kawhi Leonard missed the game with an injury so that helped the Clippers. Still, I'll take the win against the team with the second best record in the NBA.

Clippers play the Warriors tonight at Staples Center in LA. Big game!

Unfortunately, the Warriors were crushed by the TrailBlazers last night so they will be looking to redeem themselves.

Damion Lillard torched Steph Curry and the Warriors for 51 points in that game.

Book of Mormon was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

It was hilarious and we enjoyed it. One of the leads in this Broadway touring company is a close friend of my son from high school so it was pretty exciting to see him on the big stage!

Looked like the Clippers had a shot at the Warriors for a while but it was not to be....

Those never ending 3 pointers from the Warriors just suck the life out of you.

It's like they are playing 6 vs 5 players. Simply a wonderful team all around

BTW Doc needs to rest his voice. Each game his hoarseness worsens

I noticed that his voice was strained, too. Difficult year for the Clippers and for Doc.

Have to admit that Doc and the players complain too much to the refs. Doesn't help when you need a close call to go your way.

I worry sometimes whether symptoms are voice strain job related vs hoarseness from something else such as a polyp or perhaps something worst yet

He's a candidate for ENT consultation and a quick office laryngoscopy if he hasn't already had such.

Having missed the Warriors Thunder game, I saw a replay of Curry hitting a lonnnnnggggg 3 to win the game in OT. What a guy, he's developed the winning attitude at crunch time, the I-want-the-ball-in-my-hands killer instinct and the will to win of the great players who played the game.

not only did he shoot from beyond 30 feet, the ball was dead center in the goal.

I only saw the last couple minutes of the game. Seemed like the Thunder had it wrapped up....until Curry hit that last second long distance shot.

Couldn't figure out why Durant wasn't playing at crunch time only to find out later he fouled out of the game.

Curry is simply amazing! He gets his shot off so fast and can seemingly hit from anywhere. He was routinely throwing up shots from 5 feet behind the 3 point line and making them last night......incredible!
