I know nobody would notice, but Boston's pint size guard IT Thomas is currently the league's number 2 scoring leader, a point or 2 below Westbrook and ahead of James Harden. He just dropped 41 points last night against Detroit. I really can't imagine the C's having a 5'9" PG leading us to the playoffs or the Finals in the near term but I am inspired by watching another pint sized Celtic winning a title in 1981. Well, it pays to have Larry Bird in your team too. While there never will be another Larry Bird (as Magic Johnson declared in the Boston Garden), the rumors of Carmelo being shopped or shoved into the C's lineup is not dying down. If that happens, I picture IT Thomas' output to suffer considerably.
“I’m not going to let him disrespect my legacy like that,” James said. “I’m not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, ‘I’m not a role model.’ I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying.
“All I’ve done for my entire career is represent the NBA the right way. Fourteen years, never got in trouble. Respected the game. Print that.”
Later, he summed up his feelings even more bluntly: “Screw Charles Barkley.”
I knew Isaiah Thomas was having a good season but I have to admit I did not know he was the #2 NBA scorer this year. My son went to UW, same college as IT, so I should have paid closer attention.
Regarding LeBron and Charles, well....LeBron is a bit of a prima donna.
I enjoy watching Charles on TV - most of the time - but he has had a few personal issues over the years....and that's being polite.
LeBron always throw those dramatical antics when his team is on a rut, he did that with Miami. He's not the quiet type like Tim Duncan who just bears out the season and let the GM and Coach do their jobs. In a way, LeBron is doing a wake up call, on his team mates and on the management. He would yank out any rabbit out of the hat to win not just a game but the title, which to him lately, is championship of bust. Whether it's shoving his coach, step over players, calling out his team mates by name (like the 3 newbies Felder, Liggins and McRae who he claims are NOT the guys to save them when the game is close or something like that - and then adding that he meant NO DISRESPECT to these 3), James has more tricks in the books than the white book of Jason Kidd.
And now Shaq takes on Barkley. NBA is Entertainment, on and off the court.
I'm a bit confused at LeBron's tirade that he needs a play maker. What's Kyrie? A back up shooting guard? And isn't James a self-designated play maker at any time he wishes? Makes me wonder if Lue is calling any plays anymore when Lebron is on the floor. So is he expecting Dan Gilbert to just buy a Chris Paul or a John Wall just like that? Well, I've heard of a playing-coach before, but now, a playing-GM and playing-pseudo owner as well?
In the meantime, Cavs are heeding LeBron's demand by 'auditioning' Lance Stephenson, Mr. Blow-Your-Ear.
Clippers play the Warrior again tonight at Staples Center. The game is on TNT.
Chris Paul is still out so that puts the Clippers at a disadvantage for sure. Hope LAC's have short memories so they forget the last beating the Warriors put on them.
I believe nobody would have noticed either but the Celtics are now in 2nd place in the East, 2 games below the Cavs, much to my own surprise. I hope Barkley keeps his mouth shut and not fire up LeBron anymore.
I actually did notice that and was going to say something until I noticed my Lakers have the 3rd worst record in the NBA. I believe they could give the Cavs a run

I hope so too, Steve. With IT still scorching hot, yesterday pumped in 42 points against Toronto, they just have to stay cohesive on defense and they might be very successful.
Lakers have good pieces but need time to solidify their game. They also need a big star soon.
Most likely the Lakers will be in the lottery, but the amazing thing is, the C's will be in it too, as they own the right to Swap picks with the Nets, who currently have the worst record in the league. So if the ball goes to Brooklyn at number 1, all Ainge has to do is well SWAP and we get the number 1. Ainge must then be the Executive of the Year.
Wizards have a good core in Wall, Beal, Porter, Gortat, and Morris. Now that's where LeBron should move to, renounce his contract and declare free agency. And it's still in the east where teams are not as good as the West.
