New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Injuries killed the Warriors this year. Even had KD stayed on with them he will still be out this year. Klay, Curry, Looney, all down with severe injuries. That's their starting 4. If they get a top 3 pick next year, they will be back just like that.

If and when that happens this will add even more intensity to the western conference

The East has also tightened up and aren’t so easily beatable anymore. All this makes for more competition throughout the league and would IMO making back to back titles by the same team infrequent. Boston, Miami, Sixers and Bucks are tough teams and next year Brooklyn should be back in it do the East is going to be great as well.

Regarding Brooklyn, Kyrie IMO has done little to carry his team without KD. Not like PG and Kawhi. Either one playing without the other easily can carry the team

Actually Steve, the Nets had like a 4 game winning streak without Kyrie. :D

And the guy most likely to suffer if Kyrie plays his usual minutes is Dinwiddie.

LA Times reported that Kawhi bought a new home at the Ritz Carlton Residences across the street from the Staples Center for $6.725 million. Guess it is getting more popular to live in downtown LA. :)

Embiid pours in 38 points against the Celtics. The dawn of the big man is back. Celtics have no answer.

Very funny, Steve....and a lot of truth in your comment

When we first started going to Clipper games at Staples there were plenty of cheap parking lots nearby. Then LA Live and all the apartment buildings went up and the less expensive parking was too far away to use.

Just thought of a simple question re 2 teams using Staples Center in downtown LA. In an LAL vs LAC duel, and assuming the home team is the Lakers, can Clippers fans, buy up majority of the seats, like 80%? And vice versa? I'm still quite confused on this concept of 2 teams using the same arena, specially when a team came from San Diego.

There are frequently lots of fans of opposing teams at Clipper games. especisally when big name teams play them like the Celtics or Warriors or even the Lakers. Not as prevelant at Laker games although I am sure it does happen.

Laker season tickets are sometimes 5X, even 10X more than Clipper tickets based on what my tickets cost and what Laker fans told me they paid for similar seats. Laker fans tend to be more afffluent and there are more corporate season ticket holders for the Lakers

A Clipper fan can sell tickets for a few big name teams and recover a good chunk of their seson ticket cost. I never sold mine but people around me did.

the key to watching a Lakers Clippers game is when Clipps are the home team as the same seats are so much less expensive with an entire different fan base as well as movie star base. Rather than Jack Nicholson at court side it's Billy Crystal. Having said that I went to buy tickets for my son and I for Christmas day and the prices were in the $1000's

Both teams typcially sell out the arena and 80% plus of the seats are sold as sesson tickets so that doesn't leave that many tickets on the open market for a particular game.

There were none on the open market prior to the start of the season. Only resale tickets

In the late '90s when Phil Jackson coached the team I bought tickets for a Laker playoff game for my wife - she is from Chicago and loved Phil Jackson. Even back then I paid $500 per ticket and that was considered a bargain. That was before Stub Hub and electronic markets so I had to meet the guy in person at a Starbucks to get the tickets. The guy was practically crying when he handed me the tickets and told me that the price I paid was a give away.

Luka Doncic extends lead over Michael Jordan with 20th straight game of 20-5-5
Mavericks star Luka Doncic now trails only two separate streaks by the legendary Oscar Robertson.

NBA.com Staff

IMO this kid will give Giannis a run for MVP this year . I saw him destroy the Lakers. His accuracy from beyond the arc and under the basket is simply amazing.

The Mavs are serious contenders this year

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic continues to extend his lead of Michael Jordan for the most consecutive games with 20 points, five rebounds and five assists since the NBA/ABA merger in 1976.

Doncic, who hit 20 straight above those plateaus with 41 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists during Wednesday's romp over the Detroit Pistons in Mexico City, passed Jordan with 27, 7 and 8 in Sunday's 110-106 loss to the visiting Sacramento Kings.

Jordan turned in 18 consecutive in March of 1989. Oscar Robertson, the NBA's career triple-double king, had 29 straight in 1964-65 and 25 straight in 1963-64.

Terrific game in Miami as Kuzma continues to sit but Rondo is back along with Avery Bradley

As usual Lakers start weak, miss a ton of shots and commit countless turnovers

Miami looks great with Butler at the helm and led by as much as 16 points. They shortened the Miami lead to 8 points at the half. The 3rd period belonged to JaVale McGee and Le Bron as Lakers take a 10 point lead.

The 4th period was see saw as Miami got to within 3 as the Lakers again finish strong and win their 13th on the road

What a play by AD at the end of the gâme to protect the lead

113-110

Miami loses it's first at home

Lakers 23-3 and have won 16 of their last 17

I hav been impressed lately with the Lakers bench. During the summer I thought all the Lakers had was Lakers and AD but the bench lately has been productive

AD was a beast in the 4th period

He's so big that when he shoots a 3 it goes so high that it seems the ball bounces off the rafters

Over 80 points by PG and Kawhi but Wolves played them very well. I would have thought the Clipps would have destroyed the Wolves tonight but quite a battle

Clipps are winning games but somehow I expect them to do better tonight but no Lou Williams tonight. He is such an asset

Final Clipps over Wolves

124-117
