So Kyrie, since you lost and did not unite the world, everybody is NOT with you. Looking forward to your next visit to the Boston TD Garden, and you next sage sprinkling and wise saying. :D

Talking about ex-Pistons, I just found out that Khris Middleton was originally a Piston, drafted in the 2nd round as the 39th pick overall. Traded to the Bucks after 1 year, he stayed as a Buck from 2013 to the present. Tough guy who can find his own shots. A very capable Robin to Giannis. :D

And this came out just a few days ago...Something is clearly not right with his thinking. And his act was basically called 'tampering'.

Months before leaving Celtics, Kyrie Irving began plan for Nets superteam with Kevin Durant at home in Weston (report)

Updated Jun 17, 2021; Posted Jun 17, 2021

"Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant didn’t team up officially with the Brooklyn Nets until July 2019. However, the All-Star duo made plans to leave their respective franchises in Boston and Golden State several months before that, according to a new book excerpt.

New details about the Irving/Durant partnership have emerged from Matt Sullivan’s new book CAN’T KNOCK THE HUSTLE: which posted a lengthy passage on FoxSports.com on Thursday morning. The book chronicles Irving forming plans to leave Boston just weeks after he committed to re-sign with the franchise for the long-term in front of a TD Garden crowd. According to the report, Durant joining Irving at his mansion in Weston, ahead of a Celtics-Warriors game on January 25th. It was then the duo decided to start planning their next steps, according to Sullivan’s excerpt."

“Despite his misgivings about the racialized history of Boston sports fans, Kyrie had told the Celtics crowd that he wanted to re-sign for the long term at a fan appreciation event in the fall of 2018. But three weeks after that, his grandfather died, sending Kyrie into a sudden spiral of depression for which he’d deeply regret not seeking therapy. From that moment, he would tell his old friend Kevin Durant, “life became way more important than basketball. Anything I was doing in basketball, I didn’t really care.”

By the time KD arrived at his temporary mansion for their unfinished business, Kyrie had grown sick of creating a social distance from Celtics teammates for days at a time or else, as he was that month in January 2019, pointing fingers at them in public, especially around a loss in Brooklyn. He’d tried to stop internalizing the media’s misperception of his ego. He’d tried to be more present for his three-year-old daughter. To treat his job like a job. But self-care could begin professionally, on his own terms. He’d been charting a path home, by way of his boyhood team: the Nets.”

two terrific games today. I continue to cheer for the underdogs and hope the Hawks beat the Sixers

AS for the Clippers-Suns, my money was on the Suns to win the West but watching the Clippers win their last 4 game to beat Utah I feel the Clipps are the underdogs in this series. Clippers have never been to the WCF and it has been a long time since the Suns were in the finals. I originally felt the Suns were unbeatable but the Clippers are peaking at a perfect time and the Suns have been idle for a week so this series could be very close and unlike before where I felt the Clippers couldn't beat the Suns without Kawhi has changed after watching the Clippers final 2 games

Personally I feel there is something going on with his knee that says there is no return in sight and it is possible that if the Clippers win the West and go to championship series, Kawhi could very well be put for the rest of the season

BTW did anyone see KL on the sidelines for games 5 and 6. I didn't. Jamal Murray showed up every game to support his team. There''s a lot about KL that I just don't understand other than his great basketball skills.

Here's great read on the series...

Series Preview: Suns, Clippers each peaking heading into conference finals

With Phoenix coming off a sweep and LA eliminating top-seeded Utah, this conference final is likely headed for extended action.

Steve, I read somewhere Kawhi was watching game 6 from a suite box and then was in locker room to celebrate with his teammates. Without videos there is no more evidence to prove this but I'm suprised he didn't sit with Ballmers at Courtside. :)

Personally as much as I'm from SoCal and would love to see the Clippers take it all, there is something inside me that is wanting to see a Hawks-Suns finals those two teams to me are part of the changing of the guard and issuing in the youngsters. Both the Suns and Hawks exemplify what the league is becoming

He wouldn't know what to say to Ballmer. Heck he rarely knows what to say to his teammates. To me he is a duck out of water everywhere except on the court. PG IMO has developed into a super player and is the true leader of the Clipps. One has to wonder what KL's future plans are. Will he re-sign with the Clippers or move on

and FWIW let's not discount the Bucks who found a way to finally prevail. Giannis looked super human in Game 7. He was determined not to let the game slip away. Bucks are a well greased team

Interesting thought ...both the Bucks and the Clippers were down 0-2 and came back to win their series. So even a Bucks Clippers series would be one for the ages as well.

So much basketball yet before the championship series so anything is still possible but the thought of a Hawks-Suns final I find to be an exciting thought

so here is what the sports writers say......

NBA playoffs 2021: Experts' picks for LA Clippers vs. Phoenix Suns in the conference finals

7-3 for the Suns (who must be thought of as the tea to beat esp without KL

So will it come down to the effort given by the Clippers supporting cast....Mann, Jackson, Beverly etc

Nice comment from Lue re PG

How did the Clippers pull this off? 'T. Lue,' says Paul George

Giannis finally showed his will and determination to make those points when they needed it most. Clutch. The baby hook and drive in against KD was impressive indeed. He showed up. Deserves all cheers from his fans and even a non fan like me. And the much maligned Jrue Holiday who has a terrible field goal percentage still got the 'confidence' to take and make the 3 ball to put them up by 3. And not only that, he was the one who was distracting KD when KD heaved that last air ball. Bud trusted this guy, apparently. And he came in as the added 'help' for Giannis at the start of the season. And how bout the brother of Giannis prepping him up when he was gassed and made an air ball at the foul line. The game was full of drama. Giannis vs KD, and it didn't disappoint at all.

IMO it was one of the best and exciting games I have ever watched. Lets not forget that KD made 48 points in the loss

Trae Young showing he's 'Philadelphia's worst nightmare'

Luka, Mitchell, and Trey all proved to be a one-man scoring machine in their team's playoff games. The first 2 have been eliminated and let's see how Trey fares in Game 7 in trying to move the Hawks to an improbably ECF. I noticed lately these great teams have not been using bench production, the last 2 being the Bucks and the Nets. Philly too has little bench production and let's see if they can pull this out with their first 5 at full throttle. Simmons scoring 15 points will be a big big thing for Philly, well, because they're going to hack him at some point.

Yes, so he's included in the 50 point caliber players who got eliminated as I mentioned earlier. :D

Bucks - Clippers will be old guards old school Finals. Suns-Hawk will be new guards (literally between Trey and Booker) and new school of shooting 6 feet away from the 3 point line. :D Great Final 4, any combination will be good for the league. If Giannis wins, he will be the new poster boy of the league, and may get away with more traveling and other superstar 'perks', as they call them. :D

If Suns remain hot and no KL, they will run rings around the Clippers unless the Clippers find a way to slow the game down to their style. BUT....in a 7 game series anything is possible as we have been seeing here this past week
