I'm still in the middle of it- listening to Godspeed You! at the moment, actually. It's interesting how different these groups are- very different within the same genre.

Yes, there's some diversity. But once you move to the 2nd tier bands in the genre, they sorta start to sound alike, with that same "post apocalyptic, minor chord heavy" sound...
But don't let that discourage you There's plenty of good stuff! The GYBE! stuff is out on vinyl, good pressings too...
