In terms of sonic reality, it's no longer a fair contest. A DAC with multi-path architecture will be more realistic than a legacy single-path DAC. Multi-path THD is orders of magnitude lower than single-path (at lower "ambient" levels). In the future, probably all DACs will be multi-path.
