If it were better than the Klimax Katalyst, then it'd be definitely something.
I auditioned the Katalyst generation of Klimax DSM with D'Agostino Momentum mono and Sasha DAW, and I fell in love with that system.
I'd expect the first audition reports coming from Britain soon.
Congrats! There are quite a few listening impressions over at hifiwigwam in the Linn Owners club. My KDSM/3 AV is on order
I am and I'm trading it on for the new modelCongrats!
I’m sure you’ll love it. Are you currently an owner of the previous Klimax?
Also using Devialet right now. Did you get the LINN?it is also a big step in price!
Personally, I also love the looks (which should not be important, but has its importance to me).
After having switched to Devialet and discovering that the heresy of the double AD/DA conversion with phono does not bring issues (at least, in my system, I've never had such quiet analog...), I'd consider a Klimax fed by a LP12 with Urika II phono a kind of dream system.
If Innovative NYC organized an event (assuming corona would finally give us a break - well, more than a break -), I'd attend pronto.
Nice. What is your setup like and how do you stream to it?Nope. Happy with the Devialet!
All very true and part of what attracted me to this unit, and the software is excellent too. Just as good if not better than the Innuos sense which I found to be great sounding as well. I had the Katalyst in until yesterday, it's also VERY good. I am reserving full judgement on the Organik as I assume it needs some break in to fully open up but first impressions are it's excellent. I was worried I wouldnt like the Linn sound, as I tend to graviate to warm and laid back but it's really the perfect lively but yet still warm and "organik" sound that I prefer.First of all, skids929, congratulations on your choice. I also had the opportunity to evaluate the Linn Klimax dsm and I consider it a top-level streamer. But the most interesting thing is that Linn is characterized by a philosophy that I would say is uncommon, that is, the modularity that allows you to buy the basic model and then through upgrades get to the maximum configuration. But these steps last for decades: just think that there are upgrades for the first Sondek that are a few decades old. It is no coincidence that the acronym DSM has existed in the LINN catalog since 2007 and even that 2007 streamer can be updated with the internal Katalyst unit which is the one just before the top of the range Organik! So products that have a very long life extension, a non-negligible aspect in a sector that burns the life of products in often embarrassing times.
