NFL Start Of Season

No doubt Kapernacki had help. SF is still a defensive team. Next weeks game plan will be designed to stop him. Either team he faces will be capable of scoring a lot of points, i
I thought last years supre bowl should have been SF v Baltimore.

Guys, would would we even be talking about Peyton if Denver's defense didn't make that atrocious play? That's who deserves the blame IMHO. As I read in one book a long time ago written by a former NFL defensive player, if our offense scores 21 pts., we should win. Denver put 35 up on the board and that should have won. No Denver's vaunted defense couldn't get it done against what I consider an average offense!

Didn't see the game but I agree.

Redskins reportedly very concerned about RG3's knee

By Dan Hanzus

Adrian Peterson's amazing season has changed our perceptions on recovery from reconstructive knee surgery, but don't assume Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will take the same fast track back to greatness.

Citing a league source, ProFootballTalk reported Saturday there is "much greater concern" regarding Griffin's knee than the Redskins have publicly let on.

Any comparison to Peterson should end once the complexity of Griffin's surgery is understood. RG3 had both a torn anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament repaired in his right knee, but doctors also needed to operate on his left knee for a patellar tendon graft.

In the wake of Robert Griffin III's surgery, Jeff Darlington makes a simple plea to the Redskins: Protect RG3 from himself. More ...
The biggest concern is the damage to the cartilage in Griffin's right knee, which has now been operated on three times. It's unclear how much cartilage remains in the knee after two ACL surgeries, raising concerns of an eventual bone-on-bone condition that could end Griffin's career prematurely.

Like Peterson, Griffin is a unique specimen, but his road to recovery is an uncertain one at this time. Hard work -- and some good fortune -- will be necessary for Griffin to get back to his former self.

As usual the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Redskins fans knew we were lied to. He should never have played that game. We can see why the doctor distanced himself from the decision to let RGIII play. I am reminded of Tiger Woods who may never be the same after playing the US: open on one leg.

I'm wondering why they chose the patellar graft-unless it had something to do with having had the knee previously repaired. I wonder what they did the first time around?

OTOH, there's probably no one better than Andrews!

Your Hawks look invincible. Looks like we will be seeing you next week in Atlanta. Two great teams. I have always thought that the NFC championship year after year is better than the Super Bowl

I don't know about invincible but certainly playing hard. I can only hope they stay this course.

That said, Kapernick looks amazing: big, fast, and throws the ball on a rope.

I would love to see SF and ATL!!

The way it is going you will .. One has to wonder what would have happened had RGIII been ok. The Seahawks began the game the exact same way they did in DC: Flat. Seems to have caught-up with them... They are losing and big. They can't stop Atlanta... They can't afford trading points .. Game over, SF at Atlanta?

Looks that my brief stint as NFL prognosticator has met an end ... WHAT!?!

Seahawks are DANGEROUS !! Regardless how it ends this kid is for REAL

Can the Falcons play the niners.. I am refraining from anything. Will simply watch the game :D

Based upon what I saw SF do and what I just saw the Falcons do (and then almost undo), on paper, SF is the better team and should win. But if these playoffs have demonstrated anything, "on any given Sunday". With the possible exception of the SF game, any of the teams could have won had one play or so gone in another direction.

Atlanta has to learn how to play for 60 minutes, not 30 and this game is not the first time they have played like this.

I, too, will simply watch the game. (But if it goes anything like today's game, my heart may need re-starting a few times !!) Whew !!!!!

OK I'll kick things off. Last week I went with the favorites. I'll take the points and the underdogs .

Ravens v Patriots The Pats lost the tight end. Brady has trouble with the Lewis led defense. The Ravens are on a roll. They have a running game defense and a quaterback who can score if he has to. Pats are 10 point favorites. The Ravens are not impressed by the Patriot mystique.
Falcons over the 49ers. i would like to see San Francisco win the super bowl. It's not my fault they blew it last year. Kapernacki has embarrassed me once. He want be as good this week. Atlanta has a good defense. After almost being defeated by a running quaterback and watching film of GB being dissected by one they will have a game plan for him. Atlanta will be at home, relax and score some points.

I would take the 49ers if they were at home.

BTW Who is the better coach the Harbagh brothers or Billicheck?
