NFL Start Of Season

Love the RG III clip. I'm not a Redskins fan but am a huge RG III fan. He took Baylor from being a nondescript football team to being a team to pay attention too. Just hope he doesn't do again what he did with the Falcons and get busted up. Certainly more sure handed than Michael Vick and maybe even a better passer.

It's players like him that make Pro Football much more exciting to watch, in some cases, matching the excitement of college football. It's early in the season but he may turn out to be the better "team improver" over Cam Newton and Andrew Luck. Time will tell.

Am I the only one who thinks that was an illegal hit. He was on the ground . He slid feet first. There was no intent to tackle. A blow to the head is illegal, If it was not illegal it should be next year.

Eli is the man. But I could have hit that pass, The play of the game is RGIII on 4th and ten.
The problem is no big hits over the middle for the defense. Big name receivers would never go up the midlle. Becasue of the "defenseless reciever rule" everybody wants to play the slot.

Maybe they should allow contact beyond five yards between the hashmarks.

Rob Ryan: Dallas Cowboys will beat Atlanta Falcons

Is he blowing smoke or will today bring the first Falcons loss.......

By Kareem Copeland

When Rob Ryan speaks, we listen. There's no telling what he might say.

This week, the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator predicted America's Team would hand the Atlanta Falcons their first loss. What else is he supposed to say?

"We need to win now," Ryan told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Saturday. "That's what we're going to do. I know the record is not what we want it to be, but the ball is bouncing strange ways. When that thing starts evening out, we're going to be great, and we're going to keep playing. We've got to win this week, and we know it, and we're going to."

Ryan's unit is ranked No. 4 in total defense, but haven't received much love due to the Cowboys' 3-4 record. The Cowboys haven't won consecutive games this season. No one cares how good your defense is when you're losing.

"You know me, I like credit," Ryan said. "Our guys, they deserve a ton of credit. Our players work their butts off. Our coaching staff, I'm fortunate and blessed to be around the best coaches. This is the best staff I've ever been on, and it's not close. So good things are going to happen to those that work hard. If we just keep working, we're going to get better.

"Despite losing, we've lost some really good players, but our guys keep going. We've got a whole team in there, not just a few individuals. This is really coming together, and I know we're going to be special. I think we're going to be special this week. I really do. I think we're just starting to get that way, and I believe we're going to have a special game this week."

Bummer the Giants lost .

The Defense played well the Offense and the Special team stunk big time .. IT was an Off-day for Eli .. He played a ba lousy game .. Steelers defense was good but Manning decision making took the day off.

Not I am looking forward to the Dallas - Atlanta game and expecting it to be tight and the 'Boys to lose ...

Never thought there is such a connection with an NFL game with the elections. :D

We'll know in a few days. :)

Redskins Rule Bodes Well For Mitt Romney But World Series Result Favors Barack Obama

The Carolina Panthers beat the Redskins in Washington on Sunday, which should translate into a win for Mitt Romney on Election Day, if history is any indication.

How do we figure? It's the remarkably accurate Redskins Rule that forecasts the result of presidential elections.

Here's what the Redskins Rule means: If the Redskins win their last home game before the presidential election, then the incumbent party retains the White House. If the Redskins lose, then the incumbent party is voted out.

The Redskins Rule has been correct 17 of 18 times.

The Panthers, who entered Sunday with a five-game losing streak, won 21-13 at FedEx Field thanks in part to four sacks of Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.

The rule traces all the way back to 1940, the first presidential election year in which the Redskins were playing in Washington. But it wasn't discovered until 2000 when Steve Hirdt of the Elias Sports Bureau was doing research in advance of the Monday Night Football game between the Redskins and Titans in Washington a week before the election.

The only exception has been 2004 when the Redskins lost to the Packers. According to the rule, that meant incumbent president George W. Bush should've lost the election to John Kerry. But after Bush won, Hirdt fine-tuned the language of the rule to account for this blip.

But even without the revision, a 94.4 percent success rate is difficult to ignore.

having watched this game tonight the Falcons look unbeatable

Not a Cow-boy fan.. They could have won the game . The Cowboys defense played extremely well .. The offense however remains erratic...Romo needs help .. I think we will see some change not because it is what they need but smply because the owner is also the GM .. He needs to think he has to do something ...

They still have to play the Giants, who took them apart in last years playoffs.

They are easily the best Falcon team since the franchise was founded but I don't seem them as anywhere near unbeatable. That was a partially decimated team they played against and still struggled. Unlike Romo, who was sacked very little, the Falcon offensive line did not do a great job of protecting Ryan.

Their real test is the ability to win playoff games, be it the Giants or anyone else. And even if they were somehow to win out all of their games and go 16 and 0, (not a remote chance) they still have yet to prove they can win the most important games.

The Cowboys biggest liability is Jerry Jones and sons, and probably Jason Garrett as well. Until he fires his "General Manager" and then hires someone to whom he gives complete control, they Cowboys of the last few seasons are the Cowboys who will continue to show up. I say that based upon the years and years and years the Falcons had owners who were only interested in making money and as long as they did, had no real interest in winning Super Bowls,. And while I could be wrong, that seems to be Jerry Jones as well !!!
