Ordering a Bokrand Tonearm

Last time we heard from him here, he was suing me. After that, he threatened me by saying he could easily find my address — as if that would scare me into backing down. WBF deleted those posts immediately. And all of this happened simply because I raised my concerns and shared my thoughts. It must have disturbed him deeply.

In my opinion, the real problem is that no one is saying what they truly think about the situation. They don’t want to risk losing money or the slim 1-in-1000 chance of actually receiving their tonearms. That’s why no one stepped forward when I was arguing with him. Sadly, this silence likely misses the opportunity to prevent others from ending up with the same complaints.
Here again

Some time ago, I offered a reward of $1,000 if someone could provide written, officially certified proof that they lost money to me and didn't receive their tonearm (even if it was delayed).

Many people would like to get a tonearm from me for such a small fee, but don't want to accept the hassle of running a one-man business (I'm 76 now and often sick).

My tonearms cost under $1,000 and are valued at up to $10,000 by professional customers.

The more people continue to give him money, the more he will continue to run his business this way (i.e. highly inefficiently, possibly boarding on fraudulent).....why would he want to change when he has money being sent to him and responding not with completed goods to a reasonable time frame but just broken promises !.
I would say he is not the fool, but the people that keep sending him money are, despite the number of unhappy customers sending in comments of their bad experiences with doing business with this guy on WBF etc. !

Maybe you and all the other WBF members who are in the same situation as your good self should provide this information to the local Spanish Police (I believe he lives (or at least used to a year or so ago) in the Costa del la Sol region), because what he is doing is 'fraudulent' which of course is illegal (i.e. receiving and keeping monies from people who have bought an item and not supplying them with said item that they have purchased ! )
No PayPal, no arms, no time for answering his emails, a bad wealth, but attractive prices and so many discussions for so few tonearm delivered. He should be in the Guinness book.

Did you try calling him? I managed to get a company number via Google maps, from his ebay address. (Seems this ebay account is no longer active though, as I am not on FB not sure if you can get this of FB).
I had to wait for 14 months, the last 2 months I was calling and mailing frequently. There was always some excuse for a broken promise or a missed deadline. At some point my patience ran out and I asked for a refund, then I got the arm within a week.
The arm is now packed up, the look of it just reminded of the frustrating experience, it just spoiled it for me. Looking back I should have stuck with a refund, it is a good value for money arm but not worth the hassle.
Got a Korf arm now, customer experience is night and day, I got a second Korf arm on the way.
Hope you get this resolved soon.

I have talked to him a lot of time and I have already decided on a refund long ago. He then told me he tried to refund me but he couldn't because of my account in Turkey which is really odd as I send and receive money through iban internationally quite frequent

OK, my mistake with the delivery times. I'll now increase the delivery time to 2 months, so there can be no more delays due to my absence from work due to health reasons (I'm now 76).

Are you kidding me? e-mailing him is the only thing I do in the last two years…
Unanswered e-mails from him lately…
I’m not the only one, there are a lot of other “unlucky” customers out there… they just quit from a non ending situation…
People looking for an Alfred Bokrand tonearm beware!!

Professional customers, eh? That's a new one.

Caveat Emptor.

I don't usually respond to posts like this from people who make insinuations. What you're doing here is a malicious insinuation that gives the impression I'm not telling the truth. I could also accuse you of things that would make you fall backward. But I won't; it's not my level.

I've been manufacturing my tonearms since 2013 and have sold more than 500 all over the world.

That means more than 500 satisfied customers and about 20 here who aren't satisfied with the process.

That's a very low complaint rate; other large companies have higher complaint rates.

For my one-man business, at my age of 76, I don't think that's bad.

Now to your comment.
Psychologically, I'd be interested to know if you don't have a dog to kick in the kidneys. Do I have to take the blame for that now?

Here are just a small selection of my professional clients
(I have permission to publish their positive feedback)

Robin Wyatt USA, distributor of the best companies for 19 years
Totem Acustic (Vince Bruzzese) Canada
ing. J.P (Hans) van Vliet, Netherlands
(Professional collector, restorer, and trader of state-of-the-art audio technologies of the 20th century such as EMT, Nagra, Neumann, and Stellavox)
Richard Garrido (purchased 2 tonearms)
(working for Audio Technica for 22 years, global product manager for AT phono cartridges) recommended me due to his satisfaction to
David Grava, CEO of Synton Switzerland (among other manufacturers of diamond pickups)
Bought 2 tonearms to conduct comparison measurements with diamonds from other manufacturers)
Various companies that use my tonearms for vinyl-to-digital transfer.
I'm happy to search for them in my hundreds of emails
and many more, but why? To refute your accusation?
It's not worth it to me.

I´m pretty sure there would be some spanish members around that would be pleased to help you by receiving the money on their account and route it to you.

I wonder how long this “delay” is supposed to last — one year, two years?

At what point after placing an order does a customer consider the tonearm as not received? How much time needs to pass — ten years? Cause there are people complaining that they are still waiting to receive their full payed tonearms and it has been over two years now.

Please answer simply with two words.

Well, even if the tonearm is delivered delayed or after two years, his customers will at least have to complain about the accrued interest loss. Same with customers refunded late. So, as long as no extra money is included with the delivery or refund, his tender would be fulfilled any time the delivery was significantly delayed. So, I´d rather think it doesn´t matter how long it takes but definition of the damage which counts for getting the reward is missing. Most likely this is the reason for the reward not beeing paid out so far. ;)

It is unbelievable that WBF still allows Alfred Bokrand to post here. Many other forums will shut it down. It is very clear he is not delivering. If he can’t keep up schedule, don’t accept new orders.

I lost money with you. I paid you the 1st of August 2023 and haven’t received anything. I have purchased another tonearm of course…
Do I qualify for the reward? Or do you want proof?
So, do, all these guys here on WBF say: Alfred Bokrand cannot deliver the goods(tonearm)=we lost our money.

@alfredbokrand - if you want to right the ship? You should worry about communicating out on WBF what has been happening, the truth if different from the other posts, and what you are doing to make things right.

I will not respond to your prior posts, as there is no threat or malicious information that would make me fall backwards. Do right by the members of the forum (as well as your customers) moving forward or reap what you sow. It's as simple as that.
