In the March 2018 edition of The Absolute Sound Paul Seydor reviews the MartinLogan Impression ESL 11A. Am I correct that in this “report” (in TAS is a “report” now different than a “review”?) Paul 1) does not bother to mention what amplifier he is using on the MartinLogans, and 2) does not bother to state whether the “recording” he is using to evaluate the tonal balance of the speaker is analog or digital?

Indeed that is annoying. I also don't rate reviews that don't compare to other products in that price range. We can 'trust' the reviewers ears, and indeed aural memory (maybe) but if we have datum points it is most helpful. Some reviewers have a cluster of gear on long demo, and it is great to hear how they compare. We need datum points. 'Sounds good', well, compared to what? :b
