Philip Seymour Hoffman Dies At Age 46

RIP indeed.

can't say I feel any sympathy for Hoffman. If he was not famous, he would just be another dead smack junkie.

I do feel real sorrow and sympathy for his 3 children under the age of 11 and his wife.

Terry and I have been buzzing with each other all day about this sadness. I suggest that the talent and drive to be "someone else" involves a huge amount of self set aside and that when the day is done, the stage lights go off, the set is closed... well then who are you? Are you John Coltrane the man? Are you Truman Capote or some guy named Philip? Is the money not raining in? Can I be more happy as Philip with a nip of H or as me being someone else? Does H make me more Philip and less those I portray?

Amazing actor and a true loss to the world of cinema. He was one of my favourites.

Maximillian Schell also passed away today!

Or maybe it's just addiction!

He recently was released from rehab and today he's dead with a needle still still stuck in his arm. This is not unique, addicts who have spend sufficient time in rehab lose their tolerance for heroin and the previous amount they have been accustomed to becomes deadly.

I agree.

To quote Dirty Harry Callahan, "A man's got to know his limits."

Just last week there was a hoax posted about his death..... coincidence?

It must have been the ancient aliens sending a warning.

He was a very talented and very likable actor. The very first DVD I ever owned was Twister. This guy played such a varied range of characters and played them all well. Such a pity. :(
