Like Tim just said above; no reset is needed (you have the direct link only if you ever need it).
You want to make sure that the two previous speakers you have connected and that you couldn't hear their tweeters are ok. I first thought they were damaged but you proved me wrong when reconnecting to the other channel.
1. Tight (but don't overtight) all your speaker's dual sets of binding posts to make sure that the jumpers are making a solid contact between them.
2. All your speaker wires, install all the banana plugs.
3. Connect all your speakers to your amp; connect them to the lower set of binding posts.
4. Spin some music with high frequencies (flutes, piano, cymbals, sax or similar).
5. Engage a surround mode in your Marantz pre/pro, like All Channels Stereo, or similar.
6. Put one ear just few inches from each speaker's tweeter to make sure they are all working.
* Each speaker...Front Left, Center, Front Right, Surround Right, Surround Back Right, Surround Back Left, Surround Left...the seven RCA analog interconnects are matching between the Pre/pro and the power amp. ...And same for the speaker connections to the amp.
Take your time, read the small label, use the included sticker labels to help.
It's easy to misstep here, many people do.
This is just to start with seven speakers.
The two subs will be next.
Then the six overhead speakers. ...Perhaps four would be enough, but that's for later on when things start to open up more, and the two extra speakers could be used between the main fronts and the side surrounds...we'll see in time.
For now you want to make sure that your seven speakers are working with their tweeters.
* You have a center channel speaker?
_____
The two Subs:
1. Position them equidistant from your listening position.
2. The near two front corners are good spots.
3. On the back of the subs:
a) Set the Volume (Gain) control to 1/3rd, for both of them
b) Set the Phase control to the zero position, 0° (Zero degree), for both.
c) Engage the Crossover Bypass (if there is none, set the x-over to its max position), for both.
Do you have a microphone stand with a boom?
If not do you have a camera tripod?
