My original plan was to try NOS Siemens in the JA100s. But then I learned the JA100 is optimized for KT90.

NOS Siemens or RFT EL34s are the only EL34s around in a quantity of 20 -- if I set my sights on JA200 Mk. IIs calibrated for EL34s.
Are you preferring the sound of the Jadis amps to the VTL monos? If not, then I am not sure why you would try another Jadis.
If you insist on PP instead of SET, then a CAT JL2 signature is a very good choice as is the VAC PHI 70 (300b PP).

Not at all. (Where did I write that I insist on PP?)

I still want to try an SET (NAT Magma or 833) or PSET (MastersounD PF100) in the 100 watt or more range.

OK, you know you should recalibrate your JA100 to use the EL34's using a different cathode resistor.

BTW, the KT90 has a maximum anode dissipation of 50W , good enough for a four tube 80W class A amplifier. The EL34 has a maximum anode dissipation of 25W, you will get typically around 35W class A maximum when using them in the JA100.

Swaps that can be carried with electrical safety when using tubes in the DAC output stages, that operate at low currents, can drastically affect the reliability of power amplifiers.

I understand this. Thank you.

I'm not going to be changing the cathode resistors, so EL34s in the JA100s is out.

How much power do you think a JA200 Mk. II with 10 EL34s will put out?

Interesting as JC Calmettes himself told me his favorite tube is the 6ca7/el34.

EL34 is going to better than the KT90, period. Keith confirmed that to you too. Not sure why apply random attributes trying to give specious logic. either try both, or if taking a chance, take El34.
Well Ron and I have different tastes. I actually would have switched to KT150s in the Jadis had I kept them.

did you try them? And was that for more power?

You didn’t write it but you are talking about other Jadis amps and El34s and such…not about how you will now get some SETs.

On which other speakers would I be asking about?

maybe he is already contemplating some horns, so he specified the pendragon

so how did Keith listen to them, did he change the cathode resistors, or was the lower power sufficient for his speakers

Hoping it works is not a good strategy. can be work in the amp or there are small fireworks when the idle current is too high.

That suggests that the other 4 tubes listed can be changed without modifications, or?
My understanding is that the 4 tubes other than KT150 need modification, although a small one. I am guessing that small modification can only be done by the area distributor as I have learned from experience that Jadis does not disclose these mod info to the end user or public, otherwise, it would have been posted in various Jadis user groups.

At some point Jadis sold an horn speaker - the Eurythmie. They got an excellent review from Stereophile. https://www.stereophile.com/content/jadis-eurythmie-ii-loudspeaker

Around 2014 I missed a very nice price Eurythmie-II in France  . It would have been a great opportunity to try horns. But there is always the DIY way https://www.audioheritage.org/vbull...bsessed-with-Jadis-Eurythmie-II-A-DIY-Project ...

That is what Martin Logan call it ! Don't know if it is trademarked ! :)
Logonite is only found in dying stars, and is very hard to extract and process. It is the same material Thor’s Hammer is made of, and is said to withstand even the toughest frequences… Maybe something you can agree to Milan, hehe? ;) .
