Roon now offering free trials without Credit Card

It would be cool if Jussi had an ASIO input so one could use Roon with HQP. I'm using Roon and going out Jriver ASIO so I can use the Jriver convolver or with Acourate Convolver using Acourate ASIO.

Roon users will soon be able to use HQPlayer anyway.
I suggested it to him long time ago, but Jussi is not going to do an ASIO driver because it would be Windows only. He develops for all three platforms.

Interesting. How would that work?

You mean, integration between Roon and HQPlayer?!
It's in alpha/beta at the moment. Roon manages all music database and progressively send a music track to HQPlayer for playback. I think Roon treats HQPlayer as a music zone. HQPlayer manages all dsp and output (so NAA can still be used).
One can control HQPlayer's volume from Roon.
On Roon community there is a thread on "HQPlayer integration".

That sounds very slick. I get tired of double clicking the iPad home button to change the volume. Thanks for the great info.

That's a good thing although not sure what Bryston has to do with it.

Anyway, on the fee, the best way to deal with it is to think of what else you spend money on. I recently bought a $600 tape. Compared to that the lifetime fee of $450 or so is easily justified. Anyway, best to try it first and then you can judge the value.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does Roon do better/different then say jriver or itunes plus amarra?
