R5 10kohm must be reduced to 100 ohm otherwise not much signal will get through to your 300b.grid stopper resistor as close to the base of the tube as possible. Have fun with that

Cube Neuphar, First Watt SIT-3, LTA MZ3 as preamp, Sutherland 2020 phono stage, Soundsmmith Paua cartridge, VPI Classic 2 TT, Denafrips Venus DAC, Triode Wire Labs full loom.

I used to have an Audion 2A3 and loved it, miss it. The First Watt is wonderful. Both work magic with the Nenuphar.
I'm trying to figure out how I want to do a final upgrade that will be it for the duration.
Maybe all EMIA. Maybe Dartzeel. The NHB 108 has a Nenuphar friendly damping factor.
I don't know. I'm not in a hurry. It's pretty nice as it is.

Kondo Souga? 2A3 magic?

Kondo Souga? 2A3 magic?
Souga was the plan for years. Kondo quit making it.
I think of Slagle as our Kondo San. EMIA Ag is probably the top of my list.
Their amp runs 50s or 300Bs. And the Phono Corrector is as good as it gets.
Im pretty sure the Nenuphar will work well on the 50 even though it’s just 2 watts.
Cube recommends 45 and 50.
I don’t play it loud anymore in my advancing age.

Was just thinking about the now many SE amps I have owned or reviewed and the list is getting pretty long. All of them were at least good to very good but I can attempt a ranking of sorts.
1. Aries Cerat Diana Integrated
2. Aries Cerat Genus integrated
3. Aries Cerat Diana Forte + Impera pre (not sure why I preferred the integrateds above…but I did )
4. Silvercore Silberglut 2A3 (on Horning speakers) surprise hit! Super transparent
5. Amplifion SET 42se (on Odeons…down 2 places on Hornings) An amp I respect more than love
6. Horning SATI 520b. With good rectifier and input tubes. On Horning speaker I put above the Anplifon
7. KR Audio DM monos
8. Ayon Crossfire iii …will try again soon and might move up.
9. Ayon Vulcan Evo monos
10. KR Audio VA350i…was my mainstay for many years
11. NAT Symbiosis SE…before full warmup it goes at the bottom after 2+ hours of continuous play it goes up a couple spots…Strange amp
12. Ayon Helios
13. Wall Audio M50 monos
13. Ayon Soark mk1
14. LadyDay LD+ 300 b monos
15. JJ322 300b PSET
16. MasterSound Dueundici
17. Cary CAD572se
18 AmareMusica Entropy Diamond…so promising design…so boring sound by comparison
I see my amp on #10.(thanx Christoph )
I think that's why my system is sounding so wonderful.
Had to service mine to get to this level.

Beautiful amp

My Horning Eufrodite Ellipse run very well on the Silvercore 2A3 amp I have at home. The Horning SATI 520b and Ayon Crossfire III I have in house aren’t bad either ;) . Ultimate stop is likely the new Aries Cérat Protos.

Agreed about Slagle/Jackson. But might perhaps consider a TT upgrade with copper EMIA versus going all silver with the current Classic 2. Just a thought, no disrespect to your fine system intended.

No worries.
I intend to upgrade the TT as well.
Thinking SP10 in OMA cast iron plinth with a Safir 9.
All of this is contingent on a friendly market for my investments which at this time looks to be a couple of years away.

In meantime have you been able to hear various drive types? Even within direct drive there are fairly large variances ( i own an Sp10mk2 , and rep two other new production DD's...) Some discovery may be in order :)

Perhaps at some point I will be able to pursue these auditions.
Im still working for at least a little while so getting away is difficult and traveling to hear audio equipment doesn’t pass the WAF. At least not until it becomes an actual decision to purchase. Then she will insist!
I have exactly two Friends who share this hobby. One has a Verdier and the other a Mofi TT. All of us buy on faith assuming our purchases are far enough elevated above where we are that we will be happy landing in whatever version of paradise we find ourselves. And this has proven true so far. I am happy with my system as is. As budget restricted as it might appear to some here.
But I’m bitten by the same bug that bit all of you.
If somewhere down the road budgetary constraints shift……
It gets one to dreaming.
