I'm hoping to borrow a good SS amp and give that a try.I think you'd be surprised how good modern class D is with woofers. They have a grip on the woofers that other amps just can't match. PP tubes are going to be sloppy in comparison.

What are you even talking about? What won’t work? I never said Audio note 2a3 does or doesn’t work on my speakers (and which speakers??).
bunch of gibberish from you.
Please don't take it out on me that you can't set up simple Radian drivers or panels
I guess it is convenient for you to not have a system because then you can sit back and be critical without any skin in the game. No one knows if you can really hear or not as there is nothing of your own work to demonstrate what you know or don’t know. Please don't take it out on me that you can't set up simple Radian drivers or panels
Thanks Joao,
What frequency do you cross and do you not get any “mud” at the crossover point at all?
Yes, that's correct - I forgot to mention but I thought this is the clear and must not be mentioned.and when you´ve landed, ditch the dsp asap and replace by analogue filter![]()
I've borrowed a Goldnote PA-10. SS, 75w.I'm hoping to borrow a good SS amp and give that a try.
yes done all this for 2 years now thanks - I was just interested in where you landed with your choice of point and your specific driversMy xo-frequncies makes no sence for your system.... important is to know how it works, or better how to find the correct xo-frequency.
You have to measure your drivers / horns without a xo by using pink noise! Then look at the curves (slope etc.), store the curve (mid-high for example) as overlay and then measure the bass. Now you can use a xo point what you think is best. Build the xo and listen, listen for a month or so and notice the plus / minus points, correct the xo etc.
I'd recomment to use a DSP-xo for this because you have a large free of degree points (slopes, xo-frequency...)
Can you elaborate on this more? Just trying to understand what advantage is getting diminished with higher power.SETs lose advantage the higher power you go

Aside from subjective "magic", I was curious if there is a technical basis behind the statement like reduced distortions or somehow synergy with speakers are increased. Really just an educational type question. Setting aside the 300B low power SET amps, I was just curious.Clearly I am no spokesman for Kedar but I think he is stating that the magic of SET resides predominantly in the lower power SETs not in the very high power varieties.
For the bass only or the full range?I've borrowed a Goldnote PA-10. SS, 75w.
I'll hook it up and give it a try shortly.
... Jadis makes some very good PP tube amps. ...
It's flirting at the edge of usability with a 300b SET, and in another thread, it was stated that at least some development of the speaker was done with 300b SET.Gentlemen,
Out of curiosity, which amps would you think would really work nicely with Alsyvox? 94 efficiency and no dips below 4 ohms seems like a dream come true, but I wonder if the really low powered stuff would be able to drive it
