Stromtank........

Just like Stromtank every serial filter is diminishing dynamics and imposing it’s own character. Parallel filters don’t do much on filtering but also don’t kill dynamics or add their chcharacter.
Parallel filters can add sound like serial. But I agree they are less apt to impact dynamics.

I would neither buy a Stromtank nor a filter, my mods (post #29) are perfect for me

+1
I have one 16mm2 line terminating into a distribution box in my listening room. From there go hardwired 4mm2 lines to all devices. The connection at the backside of the devices is Neutrik Powercon 32A.

With this arrangement I never had the desire to use any power conditioning at all.

I have done simlar. I brought a Oyaide from my panel, up and out of the wall and into the back of my amps. Getting rid of duplex and power cords is one of the biggest gains I heard in branch wiring. Its not legal, but works.

I also had the 2 cords to my preamp (duel power supply) direct wired to a box on the wall. No duplex. Again, fantastic. Not legal.

That setup coming from my 4.5kva Torus is better.

The worry I have with these power storage products, especially those with lithium batteries, is the risk of fire. If they are plugged in all the time, there is always a risk of catching fire. Just a few days ago, there was a blaze in a flat in HK that killed a father and badly burned his daughter during the night. They identified the source as a phone being charged overnight. I always charge my phone only when I am awake and in the vicinity.

YES...and now compare a phone battery with a Tesla Powerwall...NEVER

That is why Arc Fault Breakers are required. Electrical wires caused thousands of fires every year.

I can not say LIFO4 batteries are totally safe. I keep my tool chargers on the concrete floor. A friends house burned down from a Dewalt battery on the charger.

I don't want to go down a political hole. I am just saying there are activists actively lobbying the US government to get large battery storage systems in every house across the country. I have seen little push back from a safety standpoint. The NFPA nor local codes don't require metal boxes for batteries. They just sit in the garage next to a wall. It would be interesting to see what insurance companies have to say. Do they increase premiums when you add batteries to a solar system. Do they charge more if your EV has a charger in the garage? I don't think they do.

They will do if they have to pay for
Exactly, so have the insurance companies determined a LIFO4 battery in a car being charged in a garage is a risk?

Reading about ESS. Energy Storage Systems. It seems just havimg a solar system is a hazard as a lot of fires start related to wire makeup and connections. Solar itself is a big fire hazard. Remember, voltage on a solar array is generally 600 plus volts. Easy to arch, short or overheat at a termination and start a fire.

Batteries are a far lower voltage. 24 to 48 volts. More current.

After some time thinking, I will not use STROMTANK, neither represent them. I will not expose the reasons here. Just say that if the idea is clever, but the result is not perfect with my audio system and especially one gear and there is other consideration I don't accept.

I agree that Stromtank has a sound signature, and it’s not good. I know this because I tested it and experienced that Stromtank imposes a plastic character on the sound. The proper way to test it is by comparing all plugs connected to wall outlets versus all plugs connected to the Stromtank. However, everyone, including Stromtank representatives, tends to test it by simply switching the Stromtank on and off while keeping the plugs connected to it.

Yes that's why I stooped the idea to use STROMTANK, and especially to the Advise of 2 of my brands that told me that direct to mains is much better for neutrality and dynamic headroom, especially if you have amplifiers that have incredible instantaneous power and amperage.
I must say that all the other power conditioners I tested modify the sound but are not all in all better. Only proper grounding with the best artificial grounds elevate the music to a much higher level.

My experience as well regarding amps & headroom, etc. Of course, am amp with a well-designed PS probably shouldn't need additional "help" in the power department..

I use a 12V battery to power my external HDD and my streamer, with excellent results. Of course, at that level (1-1.5 AMP) the instantaneous surge of power draw is easily covered by the battery

Easy to power a HDD or a streamer, but not amplifier that can output more than 70A or 7500w on transients

I tried and had some parallel filters for years, quite good but at the end I removed them to get full dynamics, details and subtleties. I now only use unfiltered power distributors and AC grounding (PRANAWIRE), that's for me the most important reduction of audio artefacts that imprint some natural touch of HIFI sound. I tried the cheap Furutech Clear Line, it removes some artefacts but diminish dynamics, slower the sound ...
