Stromtank........

Interesting discussion...

yeah, Stromtank is absurdly overpriced ;-) but it looks nice and it is convenient....

If you are willing to use a screwdriver, a 48V (actually its rather 58V) LiFePo battery can be assembled with Grade A cells for ~$2000. Such a battery has 16kWh energy stored and a continuous discharge of 160A (short burst at least double, however the battery management system likely stops you at 200A continues and 350A burst). It weights something like 250lbs ;-) (you dont want to short such a beast.... )

Inverter: Not all manufactures disclose THD figures. Exceltech (largest inverter is 2KW continuous), says its mostly below 1% and Morningstar (largest inverters is 2.5kW says its below 2%). These are the cleanest I could find.
Morningstar seems hybrid and Exceltech (which apparently is used on the ISS Spacestation) is switch.
As mentioned above, Victron is considered a very good alternative also.....

My system uses between 300-700watts, hence 2kW should be plenty "oversized" (however, I could use two or 3 inverters in parallel ;-) )

As a charger I would use a Meanwell NPB which I would disconnect if not charging....

Such a system would run less than $5k...and has storage to play for days...

No, it's neither pretty nor convenient...but form follows function...as I say, if I want something pretty I buy a picture and NOT an audio system.... ;-)
