The Best Franco Serblin Designed Loudspeaker?

Can't really comment as I never had a chance to hear EA1 but EA2 was fantastic

Sold my Extremas as my new place in Colorado with an open floor plan isn't suited for lots of equipment, so I replaced them with Dutch & Dutch 8Cs. They were amazing speakers (although I do love the D&D 8Cs), though, and should I get a hankering in the future to go back to traditional components, the Extremas would be near the top of my list. The one pair of passive speakers I kept are the Franco Serblin Accordos, due to their beauty, ease in moving around (vs. the 88 pound Extremas), and amazing sound quality.

Three month old pair of FS Accordo Essence. Amazing sound at a fantastic price point.

Those Ktema’s look beautiful.

And they sound amazing. I've probably had 30+ speakers here over the years and this has without question, been my favorite. With the Carbide Base footers I have the most 3D images, most stable soundstage, most realistic instruments, most musical presentation yet. Anyone in the Boston area is welcome over for a listen. ;)

May I ask which pre and power are you using? The CS Port must be amazing in this system and I think CS Port used Sonus Faber at shows in Japan with their amps and turntable.

Using a Bricasti M25 amp and M12 pre/DAC & the CS Port C3EQM2 phono with the AirTight ATH-3s SUT. The cartridge is either a SoundSmith Sussurro Gold LE or the MSL Sig Platinum (depending on which arm.)

Many thanks for the feedback. Enjoy your great system.

Thanks @justaute . We initially started with the "base" version with and without spikes. Found the spikes worked better "in our system" with the speakers. Then after 5 -6 weeks, we tried the Sapphire inserts, very nice improvement, well worth it IMO. Finally, we replaced the Stainless Steel spikes with the TwinDamp spikes, no improvement in this location for speakers. But we have now tried the Carbide Base Micro footers under our phono unit, our Bricasti M12 unit and here the TwinDamp spikes bettered the Stainless Steel spikes. Also use the Nano footers under our conditioner our amp and the new Bricasti M19 transport, all for improved sonics. (Dealer disclaimer)
What speakers are you using the Carbide Base Footers with?

1000008710.jpg Thanks for the quick response and added feedback, @SOS. Good stuff.

I'm using the Carbide footers with my Tobian 12FH speakers. Music definitely has more layered sound or 3D. Bass notes also seem to be more defined or less "rounded" -- seems that way.

Did you use spikes because the speakers are on a carpeted surface?

Great Speakers @justaute. Initially I was hoping not to have to use spikes and without spikes I liked the improvement but with spikes it was a huge improvement, yes most likely b/c I'm on carpet. At a customer place that uses ART Audio speakers we initially tried the "base" version footers without spikes then added spikes for a better sonic picture. Yes his was on carpet as well. Then in a month I replaced the standard footers with the Sapphire inserts and again another win. Now I always recommend the Sapphire inserts. It's a bit of a pain to remove the standard inserts and replace them with the Sapphire inserts although I've done it now 16 times so getting the hang of it. :p

Carbide will perform the replacement. Haha

I heard all of them and 30th anniversary Extrema speakers (30 pairs ever made) sound best to my ears.
